And they do NOT suck! LOL! So we got a new drummer for my KISS tribute. He owns a shop here in Vegas called Sixx Gun Music. He's a fellow Masshole to boot!

Anyway, they are called Margasa Custom Guitars. Lot's of LP Special/JR inspired stuff and a few of his own body shapes. We were at the shop talking some band business and I could NOT take my eyes off this guy. Single hum LP Jr style guitar. Fucking ripper of a player. Has his own Margasa Hurricane humbucker which is an A5 (I believe) and 15.5K output. All Gotoh hardware, Bournes pots/electronics, and Sprague caps.

He was like "Dude, take it home for a bit and see what you think..." - I know how this works! LOL! Anyway, prices are quite reasonable. Under $2k for these. The one I grabbed is $1459. He's got some well over $2k but all the ones below are about the same as this one

This is the one I brought home:

They range from no - to light - to ridiculous relic. Certainly not for everyone on the relics (I happen to love them) but the 4 I played were super consistent from a playability and tone aspect.

Cool looking guitars, I like what he does with the pickguard. Fucking drummers….

That certainly doesn’t suck!

You need a Dunk’s guitar! The knobs could be French Crullers! :ROFLMAO:

Where abouts in Mass are you? I lived in Rockland for a while, met my wife in Hingham and she’s from Hull/Weymouth so we’re back up there regularly and will be moving back within the next year or so….or at least I think that’s the plan.

I know there was someone else here from Weymouth, my father in law is best friend’s with his drummer, but I can’t remember who it was.

Really like how they look, especially the first blueish one

Yeah man I am from Springfield area. Drummer/builder is from Southie. We both live in Vegas now which is an odd coincidence...

Yeah that blueish one is particularly cool.
Yeah I love it! I'll likely buy it from him

Well, at least you can be pretty sure he’s not going to steal your shit since he has his own store. :ROFLMAO:

I drive past that shopping center nearly daily. I thought they mainly built low-end guitars based on some things I saw on Craigslist. Glad I was mistaken!

Yeah they DO have a budget line that he actually owns called D'Avanzo or something like that. He has a bunch of his guitars in there that you can check out.

It's definitely an odd spot for a music shop. Not going to lie, a few weeks ago, my bass player calls me and was like, "you gotta check this guy out, great builder, yada yada" and I was like "ok dude... (makes jerk off hand gesture)". I was pleasantly surprised with his builds. Solid workhorse rock machines for sure. There's definitely an overall aesthetic to his builds. I definitely dig them though.

Are the Suhr customs? Absolutely not. They're also not intended to be.

GC, his shop, and J&E... all on same road Thanks for the heads up!

Ask him about Rig Talk, I swear I've seen D'Avanzo selling guitars on here some years ago.

Man, the black relic'd LP he has on his site is awesome looking. Looks like he does some amps as well. This is a great friend to have. I wonder if he could do a relic'd Schenker V old school black/ vintage white. I'd blow my load before even opening the box it came in :geek:.

Yeah

yeah man I am SURE he’d be able and most likely willing to do it.

I am actually going to do my V in his “Build your own guitar” workshop. I’m going to do as much of the build as possible.

It’ll be a ‘59 V body. 22 fret, raised center like a Firebird with a heavy TV Yellow or Seafoam Green relic. It’ll have half Diamond inlays on top of the fretboard. Like the Gretsch ones but to a Diamond point instead of rounded. Likely a reverse headstock similar to the N4 headstock if I use a Floyd. If not it’ll be a 3x3 headstock.Bound fretboard as well.

With the workshop, the body and full neck is usually provided but I want to do as much as I can do I’ll be doing my own frets, inlays (hopefully) and all.
