Still not great, but whatever...it was fun editing the shit out of the drums to make it something more...palatable? I guess lol. But yeah...recorded kinda my own version. This song doesnt need to be 8.5 minutes long. Its too boring and repetitive, and the solos are fucking weird, so I sliced the shit out of it and recorded it. Used my LTD ninja with hetfield EMGs into my 5150 212 combo lead channel, miced with an SM57 at SUPER low volumes...you can hear my kid playing with my wife in the background haha. Even editing, the song just feels like a bunch of riffs kinda thrown together. They dont really make sense together to me, but it is what it is. I just wanted to record something with the lead channel. Gives me a much more compressed and smoother tone. I had the presence up a little high, but I like what its doing to the top end. Theres a nice grindy thing going on.

I think it sounds pretty good. I'm not familiar with the orignal song, but I'm impressed with the tones you're getting from your combo. I've got a 6505 and an Orange 2x12 and I kind of envy your tone here.

Do you use a boost?

Also, I was listening (through headphones) before reading your description. The kid squealing freaked me the hell out.

That guitar tone is THICK. I like the tones you've been getting ever since you got that 5150.

I liked it too. I read that James blended multiple amps on that album and I think your clip sounds just as good with one. I was pretty surprised actually, even though I have liked most of your clips. Nice job :)
