Traded my 2011 Gibson Les Paul Traditional straight up for this 1996 PRS CE22. I've had two SE PRS's that I kept for a couple of weeks and traded those off, but they were the imports, not the USA model like this one. I had bought the LP in April and loved it until I played the 1974 Deluxe LP I bought. I do like this PRS about ten times more than the 2011 LP.

CE are always overlooked for some reason it seems, i had one and realky liked it!

best part is what you said about being happier w this guitar!

happy NGD!

First impressions - Super solid guitar, well built and balance like a vintage Stratocaster. The sound from the Dragon 1 pick ups is an instant ear to ear grinning smile. According to the webs they have 20k. & 15k. res. Hot-Hot pick-ups, that's my style. The 5-way selector is not for me, I'd rather a simple 3-way LP style, but I will keep the 5-way in the guitar for now.

So, tomorrow my Floyd Rose FRX tremolo and my Lace Sensor "Drop & Gain" pick-ups for my Les Paul arrive. Lots & lots of playing at 2 a.m. when I go to work at 8:00 a.m.

I listed the Les Paul this morning, that was quick.

Can't stop now.

Nice score on that one. I had a Core model with that 5-way rotary switch, and I didn't care for it much myself. The function of it was fine, but you couldn't just look at it and see what setting you had it in.

I'll put a chicken head knob on it!!! That's what I'll do.

Guitar is great, screams! Stopped playing at 3:00 last night, back at it at 7:00 this morning. Just incredible all-around quality.

A decent PRS is on my list to have around for a while. Need to see if I can bond with a good one. Most specs that I have read look like they should work for me.

Great guitars I had one years ago and loved it congrats!

F the guitar.... I spy a Tech 21 Trademark 10 ?????

(nice guitar too ?)

The neck on this thing is monster! It’s so big I can’t even make it through a song without my hand cramping up, so I emailed Paul Reed Smith to see if they’ll re-profile the neck for me, otherwise, I’m just going to have to sell it.

Unfortunately that’s why I’ve never owned a PRS. I can’t stand the necks

Yeah, the neck on the 594 I just picked up is pretty big too. They call it a pattern vintage. I'm not sure what they pattern it off of, but it feels thicker than the 50's neck LP Traditional that I have. It's not too bad, but it's pretty much at the limit of what I could tolerate as far as neck profile goes. I don't know what you have in that guitar from a cost perspective, but I would estimate that to have a neck reprofiled at PRS would be pretty spendy. If I wasn't 110% sure that I'd be keeping it afterward, I'd definitely take that into consideration because by the time you paid for the neck recarve you may have way more into it than you'd ever see out of it. Just my opinion.

Yeah, this guitar isn't for me, it's on the chopping block. Too bad because I want to like it but the strings are too close to the body also, making it that much more a guitar that will need a different owner.

Solid built guitar with great pickups, just not my thing.
