Well sort of...I sent my BE to Dave for the HBE/BE footswitch, VH switch, and new headshell. The VH switch is just killer! Thx Dave & Rob!

VERY nice.

Do you know if the BE can be mounted in a standard, centred late 70's JMP-style headshell? I'm just wondering if it's an option, if a potential purchaser is not big on the offset headshell look....

Wow the new headshell looks real classy

Whats the skinny on the VH switch?

Yeah we want clips with and without the VH switch

Thanks guys! The VH switch is a slight overall re-voicing with a bit more sustain to my ear.

Thx! I don't know if that would be possible. I think that all the Friedman heads are offset. Would be a question for Dave & Rob.

The offset design makes sense as it centers the gravity point to be balanced when carrying it on the handle.

Which would be great if most amp manufacturers did that.

Hmmm. OK, further details on this would be great.

I assume this lets you footswitch between 3 tones: Simple Clean, BE and HBE? Thus, it essentially turns the BE-100 into a 3-channel amp?

If this is correct, how are the levels across the BE and HBE channels matched, given there are no separate 'Master' volumes? Using the shared 'Master', I would think the volume would drop a little when switching from the BE to the HBE, which would be less than ideal, given that most players would actually want a volume (i.e., solo) boost when switching from the BE to the HBE.....

Any first hand feedback you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Love the look of that headshell.

Other than the gain difference between the BE & HBE are the EQ's similar, usually when sharing an EQ one is darker or brighter than the other.

Actually it works really well because footswitching from BE to HBE gives you a small volume boost. The footswitch is two-button with the left side going from BE to HBE and the right side activates the clean channel for BE or HBE.

The EQ's are similar. As Dave has stated, the HBE just sounds and feels like you hit the BE with a pedal.
