I am McLovin this amp. Easily the most excited I have ever been about an amp purchase, and I only got around an hour to mess around with it (at midnight haha). I only got it because I was going to flip it as I got it in a trade but this is a keeper.

I have never used a plexi 4 input style amp. My gut is telling me just to get a Tube Screamer, but are there any other boosts you recommend to push it into rock/metal territory?

I have a JCM800 and use a modded RAT with that, but I want to use the artisan to record to blend in another flavor. I don't want molten gain, just a tight chug with some snark.

Is there a classic setup of the Plexi that is a good ref point? Blending in bridged mode with a boost etc? I only had limited time last night to try linking channels and I don't have a clue what I was doing haha.

These are nothing like the normal blackstars. The artisans are really well made, old skool design Marshall type amps with great quality. And I think they are L-O-U-D!!!! Want clips!

It is by far the best amp I have ever owned. I can't say enough good things about it. Here is a clip of it in the late 70's Plexi mode:

Only 2 tracks (one panned left and one panned right) and they are only 2 string power chords. It's crazy how it dominates the mix.

It is crazy loud though. I have mine is a sound booth. With the recording level I could not have been in the same room as it because my hearing is pretty sensitive.
