UPDATE SEE LAST POST!

modded 2204 ...and this is a very different beast from those amps. All I can say is that the balls that this amp has for a 50 watter is astounding. I've owned several different 50 watters before and this is by far the loudest and throatiest of the batch... I am truely impressed ! wanted to say thanks to cyndicate also!

here are some shitty clips i made and threw up on youtube....

:m17: so you got that amp going already? It has that real familiar tone to it. HMMM! Now what tone is that? Oh yeah, that has to a Cameron.

 You were running a cameron cab with the celestion h-30's ? Heritage 30's right? Sounded good.

Yes sir... cab is still breaking in , getting there though! I love the cab... it has great dispersion for a strait cab...

I gave serious consideration to buying this amp myself. What's the diff between the two channels? Foot switchable?

Mike

Hey -

Front Side is ocean
Back side is Jose

Front panel Has stock controls plus the addition of a push pull Treble control and Push pull preamp gain control. Mark Also added a secondary gain control next to the stock preamp gain knob.

The treble push pull changes the treble from a very bitey 5-6k treble to a more midrangey up front 600-800hz kinda vibe...it's kind of subtle , not over done... It changes the feel of the amp a bit to...

The Preamp push pull changes the distortions compression, makes the amp feel more saturated and sound more fluid...

The Secondary gain adds huge girth and more gain to the distortion , this control is key to the massive bottom end and overall grind to the distortion!

The back side of the amp is a Jose. Basic controls plus the addition of the 3 way dip switches, preamp , bass, mid, treb, master volume. But it has 3 way dip switches (just like the ccv and ccm) Over the Preamp gain and master volume.

The switch over the preamp gain is a gain style control, to the left its super saturated and compressed, in the middle very open and raw like a plexi! THIS MODE IS BRUTALLY LOUD , or to the right somewhere in between very tight and articulate mid gain stlye break up. The other switch over the master is like a presence/feel control which changes the overall feel of the amp , from a little sag, to tight and bright , to somewhere in between... VERY COOL ! The channels are footswitchable and it does so beautifully with no pops or volume drops!!

this amp smokes!! way to go Mark!

Your Ocean is the BEST amp I have ever heard for 80s high gain bar none.

You are a lucky man Dan

bump ! spoke w/ Mark tonight and sent him pics of the inside of the guts and he was able to confirm that the front is a unique version of the ocean mod and the back was a jose mod with a twist (3 way dip switches over master and preamp gain)

all i can say is this amp does sound like an ocean... totally MASSIVE!

Wanted to personally thank Mark for going out of his way to go through this amp with me, he was totally helpful and a great guy.

Wow looks like everyone was wrong about what mods are done to that amp :D Sorry I couldn't verify it :( Glad you like it though  The front sounds awesome :)

yea dude pretty awsome!

I got a ton of different tubes (preamp and power) and just went to town tonight i ended up with a mixture of different types of preamp tubes... a Tad 12ax7 in the v1 of the front channel a tungsol in v2 a electro harmonix in v3 phase inverter, the back channel i ended up with a tungsol in v1 and a mullard 12ax7... power tubes i ended up going with a set of Ruby el34str duet... nice tubes! pretty big bottom end for an el34!

Played with some different bias setting also came up with something really cool... once again the amp screams! thanks Will
