Just got back from visiting The “Shea Man”
and picked up my Headfirst Alta 100.
No,no picks or video’s, just two dude’s talkin’ amps mixed with life with kids etc,
I had the privilege of playing the Skeleton Key.
Verdict?
-the sound of Vendetta-, don’t plan on coming
back after jamming on that thing.
Megatron MONSTROUS MUTES.
Shea reminds me of a fireman buddy of mine.
Solid dude.
Anyways, the Headfirst.
To cut to the chase, this is the best Marshall channel switcher I’ve ever played and heard.
Jason, the master volume is INCREDIBLE.
To be able to pull a convincing AC/DC at mouse fart volumes is pretty freakin’ cool man!!!
All channels stay true to the Marshall with JMP being the dominant voicing which is amazing to have at low volumes, even gained up the amp always has that awesome Marshall throaty’ness as opposed as leaning more Mesa/Marshall.
VERY WELL done!!
From clean to crossover to heavy crunch, it’s
all there seamlessly.
I can’t believe how amazing all the switches are man, damn.
And turned up??
SO PUNCHY & holds together as well as it’s very dynamic to the feel which most modded-Marshall are incapable of.
You can really feel getting up under the notes.
Nails -Master of Puppets, Facelift to Dirt
back to “Sad But True” FROM HELL on channel 3.
Super full and plenty of “punch in the grunt”.
The dopest clean channel with a gain adjuster and those magical switches which bring in all the Friedman Smallbox clean channel tones with the ability for MORE gain, bottom & fangs etc.
-actually with channel 3 and the gaiin at 11o’clock , no switches engaged is the meanest Hendrix “Machine Gun” deep tone.
And to have the ability to have all of these functions on the fly is pretty freakin’ kewl’ man.
F’n AC
️DC EVERYWHERE, whenever & wherever you want’em!!!
Jason, you set the bar up real high for the industry
in multi-channel channel amplifiers with the
Alta 100.
The addition Masters and that “Response” adjuster
is the silver bullet that kills the beast.
- And for the price, it’s a win for whole band!!!!, lol!
STOKED.
