Just got this in today after getting the diezel bug again and i have to say this thing is on a whole different level then the previous Herberts i've owned. I've owned mk1's, mk2's and played a mk3 several times and this thing sounds different then those ever did. More bass extention, more grind and raw mids and absolutely no fizz even at talking volume. The 2nd master changes the amps tone alot, more dry and harmonically different. I plan to upload a clip either today or tomorrow.

Nice!!!
Congrats!!

I had a mk.2, I wanted to love it but it was too compressed and the feel felt disconnected.
The way you're describing yours sounds killer.

I'm also getting the Diezel bug again, maybe a VH4...

Congrats... i own a MK2 and can be dated like in 2010 era or 2008... i thought the Herbie Mk2 has been pretty consistant ?

Congrats, badass amp, the white tolex looks killer too.

HNAD

are the tubes significantly different than what you've had in previous ones?

Awesome. On my third Herbert as well. MKII
My first were both mki
The MKII I got is really more raw thick when the gain dialed back. But the PUNCH is still there.
Kick the gain to bout noon it’s metal HEAVEN!!
This is only channel 2+ I’m describing.
It goes much deeper. The clean is amazing.
Definitely a keeper.

Thanks for the response guys! Tubes right now are JJ KT77 but i'm looking to try some different brands or tube types for fun, any recommendations?
