Just got it Friday and finally....just got to mess with it a little bit. It is an amazing amp. When I have more time I will post a clip and review. on!

Cool Mr. T!!
YEah the mighty Herbert. Think your gonna live on channel 2(+) :D

SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOPED mids from hell.. Congrats bro.

Very cool!

I've had my Herbie since June 5th 2005 and IMO is the most versatile and dynamic guitar amplifier on earth.

CH1 - you can get a plethora of classic to modern Marshall/sparkling Fender clean tones.
CH2 - the skies the limit. Again pick any classic or modern Marshall and you'll nail it.
CH3 - it speaks for itself. Just amazing.

The mid cut I use all the time. Typically intensity 10, level 12.

I'd suggest you start with all the EQ settings at 12:00 and slowly, very slowly tweak it from there.

From my experience, give Herbie at the very least 2 years before you feel that you've reached out long and hard enough to truly appreciate the brilliance that Mr. Peter Diezel has incorporated into this very fine boutique monster of a guitar amplifier.

Best of luck to you, you scored a definite keeper with the Diezel Herbert.

Attached is a starter "Diezel Herbert Amp Sample Settings". Play around with it, but as I said, start with all EQ settings a 12:00 then tweak away.

One of the best amps out there IMO. 3 loops that rule.

It is to many people, to each their own man ;)

To the OP, congratz - that's one serious amp. VERY serious!! You going to gig that thing?? Mind the mid-cut if so. Otherwise, splendid bit of German artistry RIGHT there

I had one of these as well. It is an amazing sounding amp. Many congrats!

Excellent choice!!

Have had my Herbert for years now and it will be here...
Herbert is a keeper in EVERY sense of the word.

Enjoy

With all respect {sg guy}, if one should endeavor into the Diezel arena without the basic knowledge of music (ex. harmony) then this one is not worthy of such a fine piece of guitar gear.

Maybe ACDC is more appropriate and suits your musical taste more.

-go climb back under your rock-

Dude! You must be psychic - I actually do sleep under a rock; no climbing required.

HNAD! I've never tried a Herbert, played through a VH4 a while back. Very cool, articulate amp. I hear the Herbert is the most beastly....a buddy has one and he dials it in a bit scooped but then bumps the mids back in with an eq pedal in front....thick wall of cutting metal tone!

Here is what I can tell you so far. Having owned the VH4 and now a Herbert. I would have to say that the 4 is a very dry sound and a damn good one. The Herbert has (the best way to describe it) squish. On the Herbert I am SUPER impressed with the headroom. Just has so much more on top that I feel it is very manageable. And the loops.....Wow. Just transparent. Although the 4 has more features, I think the Herbert has more useable ones. Just my .02.

The Herbert is the baddest amp out there in my humble opinion. You can get every sound you could want out of it, and every feature is well thought out with that amp. With the VH4, I have a few gripes. I've never found the inserts useful, and I don't like that the parallel loop is the switchable loop. But, thats just my thoughts though.
