NAD: Ecstasy 101b

Just snagged a sweet Ecstasy 101b. Holy wow.

Now I get all the hype. Sure, it sounds great, but the feel is just unreal. I always thought the idea of the blue channel being enough on its own was foolish but it really is enough. That single channel is worth the price of admission - everything else is just a bonus. Hot damn.
 
It is a great amp. Does everything very well. What speakers are you using?
 
G12-65s! I know everyone talks about how dark these amps are, and those are dark speakers, but I don't find it too dark at all. Sure, it's smooth, but I have absolutely zero problem cutting through. Honestly, it probably cuts better than just about anything I've played.
 
G12-65s are awesome - so spongy and fun. Plus, they are like PAFs in that they were all different. Many different cones used by Celestion.
 
I hear ya, mine will be back tuesday (bogner repair thingy) People need to play one, to know what it's all about. The feel is fantastic, clips can't give you that. ENJOY IT! :rock:

That is THEE thing anyone who has never actually had the opportunity to play an Ecstasy is really missing. The "feel" is absolutely amazing. It makes you feel like the you have the hands of the Incredible Hulk. Every note feels massive and hits like a hammer. My Ecstasy Classic is one of the very few "to the grave" amps I've ever owned. Congrats! And enjoy!
 
Congratz!! Kiler amp, tremendous feel, just a beautiful, timeless amp.

I'm in for the 100B as my next batter-up.

I'm glad I have found a site with real players that can hear the Bogner difference !!
I just bought an Uberschall rev 2 and have an Ecstacy 101b that I got in the mid 90's
My brother had an Ecstacy 101b and I heard his n was like wow !!
So back then I went shopping I tried every amp I could get my hands on .
To me nothing compared to the Ecstacy so I had to have one .
Now with my new aquisition I am planning to run the two in stereo .
I need a good Aby with a good ground .
I also am going to yank the 75's out of the überkab and replace them with lynchbacks .
My other bogner can has all v30's sounds way better .
I'm not a fan of 75's
 
Congrats. I had a Classic version years ago, probably shoulda kept it around.
 
have had two 101b's and one classic - modded them all. found out to leave em alone, they're perfect right from the factory. Silly fool i was :doh: :doh: Love my Stock 101B :thumbsup: awesome versatile sweet amp makes you dig in and play :m17: :rock:
 
The guitarist in my cover band has a couple of these, they are the perfect compliment when I play my Mesa rig, everything seems as full as it gets.
 
I like the 101b a lot! I only wish the amp had as much punch as the Marshall JVM410HJS I played next to it and I wish ir had more feel and responsiveness like the Fryette SigX I also have played a lot in searching for a new channel switcher. I love the tone of the 101b though.
 
I run a Diezel Einstein too when I want mega-punch. That thing kicks you straight in the guts.
