Well,....just got finished putting it through the paces. I'm pretty impressed.

I rocked my R7 through a Bad Cat 2x12 w/V30's. Clean is very good,....got the newer trim level control to balance it out better with the other modes,....works like a charm. Vintage Lo is,....dare I say similar to the Blue channel on a Bogner XTC. It's squishy with a sort of glassy top,....very clear and open sounding. Vintage Hi is just a tad more compressed with the gain bumped up a notch,....maybe a bit more midrange? Plenty of lowend on all modes,....and I'd say the amp overall is pretty warm. You can footswitch all the modes and everything stays nice and balanced. Takes boosts well. Reverb is nice too. One thing I really like is that the entire range of the Vol (gain) knob is usable. When it's dimed it's not totally unusable like on a lot of amps I've had -- very cool. It's a nice mix of vintage-style tone and feel with a modern attitude. Blues to hard rock with ease.

Got band practice tonight so that will be the true test -- might even gig her tomorrow night. Plus I want to try it with some single coil guits -- Tele's into it this weekend.

Congrats, I actually like that amp. I have just recently seen a couple of vids of it. I really like the bluesy sounds it was getting.

At first I thought this going to be Brad's thread

Too soon?

Cool! I haven't gotten the chance to plug into one of those as of yet. Let us know how she fairs during your practice.

Oh Yeah! Send me that Les Paul while you're at it! ;)

Congrats Bill. I really like the ED. Do you agree with me when I told you I see it in the same catagory as the Budda SD80 and Bogner Shiva? I keep telling Mike/ratter that he would love this amp. I think he needs to get over to the GC and try one out.

Congrats  I've heard nothing but good things about these amps. I need to get off my ass and try one out

Hey Jimmy. Yes, I would say it's in the vein of the SD and Shiva,....tone's a bit different but it has the same type of feel and vibe.

Performed quite well at rehearsal, makes it's own space quite nicely and mixes well with my Tverb (other guitar player used it). Seriously love that you and footswitch all the modes.

Agreed I love this amp. Pns has the head & combo instock.

Great amp!
Mine is being repaired now. One of the tube probably blew and took a resistor along for the ride...

Anyway, the amp sounds killer and yes, it has plenty of bass. It may be lacking a bit of gain compared to the Mark IV.

That's what I like to hear!

Glad you're digging it Bill. Can you give us some clips?

I'll try to do some clips (that are worthy) and post them in the coming weeks.

Looking forward to the clips. When the Mark V and ED were 1st announced, I had much more interest in the Mark V, now its reversed.

Do you still have your Jubilee? Just curious -- I have a 2555 Silver Jubilee that I thought would be very similar to the Electra Dyne. They have some similarities tone-wise but they definitely have their own vibe going on. I was thinking of selling the Jub, but I might hang on to her for a bit longer.

Sure do, mine is a 2553. I miss being able to crank it with my old band, it really comes alive when you get the volume at 6 or higher. Sounds good at lower volumes, but not as good as when you crank it. Its interesting that they kind of sound similar. Clips of both would be cool.....

Well,....maybe similar is the wrong word. They're amps sort of in the same vein,...although, the Jubilee is capable of more gain. You're right about the Jubilee sounding great cranked, but you can get some really great low volume tones in the 25 watt mode.
