This was a quick demo at a very low volume with a samsung S8.

I am really in love with this amp. its very different than everything else i have and it is definitely on the scooped side, but damn, she kicks some ass. The options on the amp are endless, its kind of neat that way. i will just stay on the gain channel tbh if i want cleans, i have plenty of fenders (lol). The low end is huge, and it has a nice kind of sizzle to it if you want to dial it in.

The clip was a first take, and the girls are sleeping so it was at low volume. the louder you turn it up , the less 'processed' it sounds. features are great, just wish it had midi.

I snagged it on CL for $890, the previous owner i have done business with before, he said that it has less than 30 hours on it, and i believe him honestly, especially regarding how well cared for the rest of his gear is cared for, and what I got off of him previously.

and shit, for $890 it feels like i stole it. lol.

i will get some louder clips up on sunday night or monday mid day.

cheers!

Killer tone. Very percussive and tight. Congrats.

yeah, tight as a nun's ass.

do you have any tube recommendations for it?

the tubes are perfectly fine, just wondering if you had any recommendations for preamp tubes.

I have a Tungsol in V1 and a JAN/GE 5751 in V2 of my Engl. That 5751 is a great tube for taming it, and added clarity. I know that amp has a shit-load of gain. I'd definitely try a 5751 in V2 if you have one.

Sweet man!! I had one. Total stock.
Smashed!! Sold it to a bud for $600

Just because he was a long life friend and I was not playing it.

Damn. I need friends like you. Lol

Actually I generally do the same thing for a good bro.

I am out of Tung-Sol atm IIRC but the JAN stuff I have a lot of. Sweet, thanks.

I am thinking of a Sovtek LPS in the PI.

or a NOS 7025.

LOL

From what I remember, I was running JJ 6L6's for the power section and the stock Groove Tube 12AX7's.
It sounded pretty damn good.

Id probably go for the Tung Sols in the V1 position and Sovtek 12AX7LPS in the PI slot.
That combo has worked well for me in almost every amp I've tried them in.

That sounds great even at low volumes. Killer score.

I am very happy with it, especially the low volume tone is kinda nice.

Although in general, rarely do I play at low volume. Lol.

I do have to build a footswitch for it though. At least for the third and fourth channels. Who needs cleans. Lol. Although they are pretty damn good.

That is a go to for me these days too.

Glad you're enjoying it. I haven't played a powerball, but I love my FB100 and loved FB60 I had years ago. I suspect a lot of the dog piling the older models get is from people who haven't played them.

yeah i really don't know as far as the dog piling stuff may or may not be, but i am totally digging it. great cleans and the two highest gain channels are awesome. although i won't really be using the cleans on it. lol.

i am happy, price was perfect on it too!
