Finally landed another amp! I love the stealths. Have had a few of the 100 watt heads. Since my live playing has dwindled down a bit, the 50 watt made sense and I actually found it used at guitar center by NASA in Houston.

That store gets a shit ton of high end used gear. Kind of think folks that work at NASA might have some pretty serious expendable income!

Blue channel with a boost is where it’s at. Love it.

I know a LOT of people talk about the EVH amps not cutting through in the mix. I personally have played the 5150 III 50 watt 6L6 live dozens of times and have never had that issue. While I have not put this on to the test, I did have the 100 watt before my health went down and had to sell it. I got more compliments from bandmates and folks coming to see us play live than I did with most other amps.

ive never heard anyone talk about 5153's not cutting?? some of the best live tones ive ever heard have been evh's, Buckethead used one of the 50w ones when i saw him and he had the best tones from clean to scream ive ever heard

Congrats! Great amp. I enjoyed the 50s when I had it, and would still have it if I didn't get seduced by an SLO. It was a great, modern riff machine.

yea.. for whatever reason, there is not a lot of love for them down here in Houston. I have even had sound engineers roll their eyes at me before when I would bring one to a show. I don't understand it either.
