scored an evh stealth from a good friend of mine recently. I have spent the last week with it making sure I liked it. the end result is that I love it. the amp is phenomenal, and just over the top. as sad as it may sound I still boost the amp with my maxon od-808. I run the channel 3 gain around 10-11 o clock, and it has a nice tight percussive grind to the tone. the blue channel is much improved and I can actually see myself using it now, whereas with the original I never touched the blue channel.

Congrats! I boost my 2C+, no shame in boosting! Lol

Great amp from a great dude! I love mine as well

I agree 110% man ! Sandman is a great guy to deal with. Proud to call him a buddy

Nice tool setup. Almost looks like a hardware store.

I work at a big parts house and it was delivered to work haha. I do have a similar tool set up but this particular one is at my work. I have an addiction to gear and mustangs/hot rodding. Two of the most expensive hobbies I could have chose I think. The ol' lady is mad at me half the time ! Lol

I`ve yet to play thru a Stealth but I say no shame in boosting it , I used to boost the blue changel when i had the 50 watt with an OD set as a clean boost and I boost my Friedman and Splawn the same way. I felt the red channel of the 5150 didn`t need a boost. Cool amp congrats

I know a guy in a band that has an eq and a maxon 808 in front of his 6505 on the lead channel.
Hung out with him for a bit last week and the difference was noticeable when he engaged and disengaged both pedals.
Was actually a little surprised of the difference.

I've yet to hear or see an amp that didn't need one. But then again, I haven't played a high gain amp like Deizel etc, so it would be interesting to see the difference.

Great amp! Thanks for letting me borrow it for the weekend to try it out.

I love my Stealth. And I boost it too for feel....not gain. No shame in boosting this as you are not alone. I dont play mine much anymore but great amp.

I agree 100%. it is more of a feel type of thing for me too. I back the gain off accordingly to compensate for the boost, but the amp just feels a bit better boosted to me.

I boost mine as well. I didn't at first for first two months, then tried it with a few of my overdrives, but the blue, gain at noon, and boosted with the misha protone is killer. Cuts like a mofo and feels exceptional.

This is an amp I would get if I didn't currently have what I have. Really love the tone from it!
