Killer amp! Digging all three channels! Thx Dave & Rob!

Sweet amp!!! ...I'm having a great time with mine!!! but you got your Cantrell with an extra master knob for the JBE. Maybe I should've got that done on mine? I wonder what it'd cost to have it done, if I sent it in to Dave?

Your amp looks killer! I've never heard of Friedmans. Hope you enjoy!

Nice to have you here.
Many "big" names using Friedman amps these days.
Dave has been a go-to guy for modding for a while and he has made his own line.

JJ model is a Jerry Cantrell Signature amp, there's a Steve Stevens Sig amp too.
If you get a chance, I would recommend checking out the BE100 and seeing who's using them.
They are around on many stages these days

Congrats on the amp! I love mine. The gain channel is sooo right.

Is this the one Dave Grohl uses atm, seen his amps in Sonic Highways and it doesen´t look like a BE?

Gratz, looks awsome!

What is the deal with the extra knob? Is that for a footswitchable volume boost for solos?

That is an additional master for the JBE channel. All three channels on my JJ are foot-switchable.

couple questions for those that have the 'new' version with the extra JBE volume on the front:

- is the 'Boost' on the footswitch for the JBE mode (ie there is not a JBE mode PLUS a separate boost)?

- can you manually still flip the switch in the back to go to JBE or do you HAVE to switch over using the footswitch?

thanks!

The boost on the footswitch activates the JBE. The amp has clean, BE, JBE. Nothing else, no additional boost. Yes you can still use the switch on the back if the footswitch is not being used.

would you mine double checking the JBE switch on the back for me? Mine doesnt seem to work, even when the footswitch is not plugged in - thanks!

If you have the extra master the switch dosnt work.

thanks for clarifying dave - just a consequence of how the additional MV had to be implemented in the circuit?

i was surprised because ive just never happened to have an amp before that you couldnt fully control from the amp itself

hey dave, just growing more curious about this - were the some additional master volume mods done where the back switch did still work?

a couple people who own(ed) the JJ with the extra JBE volume knob have said the switch on the back does work - like the OP in this thread.

thanks!

My bad Dave. This is correct. Just tried it to make sure...the default on mine without the foot-switch being used is the BE channel on the dirty side. The JBE on my amp can only be activated with the foot-switch.
