That black face plate has meaner tone than a white one. Mean amp!

Yeah I think it'll look good sitting next to the Ultra Lead since they both have white knobs on black instead of the stock black knobs on black. :)

Does the UL look good with white knobs or what? I put mine on 10 years ago when i got it brand new, 2003 model that is. Looks fuckin` great. Both do match very well, nice amps man.

Check this out for fun.

This is a pic of when i got the amp, just joined Harmony Central a little while before.

This is after about a year or so spending too much time on that damn forum:

Chris

PS Notice i had to take out the cabinets in the right hand corner? Needed space for my amps!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe that's pretty sic lol! I don't get to buy gear often, so when I do, I really try to get something that I plan on keeping forever.

So I'm really digging the amp so far, and here are my first few impressions.

My VHT Deliverance cab works decent with it, and I'm curious how it will sound through the Marshall cab. I don't think either is voiced perfectly for the Bogner, but it's easily doable.

It's quieter than my Rev. 1 Uber was, but still has a slight tendency to feedback at volume with the gain up. I may have to run my noise suppressor a bit to tame it. My Ultra Lead spoils me in this area as I can play really loud, and not have to think about grabbing the volume knob on the guitar during stops.

The dirtier channel either has less pre-amp gain than my old Rev. 1, (but still a tad bit more than the UL), or the KT88's tighten things up enough that it seems like less. I can actually turn the gain up all the way, and still have a usable tone. The Rev.1 got almost overly saturated doing the same thing.

It almost seems like the channel presence is different from the Rev. 1 as well. IIRC on my old Uber the presence knob was more of a midrange knob that scooped out the mids when turned down, as well as decreasing the volume a tad. The TJ's presence seems more like a standard high end presence gain like on most amps.

Overall the amp still has a bit of Bogner chewiness, but with a tighter power section, which also seems to give it a bit more clarity. I think it will cut better than my Rev. 1 did. It's really quite different sounding, but very cool in its own way.

The crunch channel seems to have a tiny bit more gain than my UL crunch channel, but it may be the voicing as well. It has more highs than the UL on this channel which could explain this. I really like this channel though, and am glad that it is a crunch channel rather than a clean one.

The amp is a keeper for sure. It won't be replacing the UL, but it will be a great backup. Heck maybe I should think about a stereo rig? We are only a 3 piece, so more guitar would be a good thing right?

I had a chance to try one of these that came in on a trade in. It wasn't enough for me to want to grab it as it wasn't what I was looking for at the time but it did raise my eyebrows. A great sounding amp, no question.

Well done and congrats!

:)
