Got it a few days ago. This is one beastly sounding amp, 2 channels with 4 sounds on tap. I only have a video of it on the clean channel because I was having too much fun jamming which is always a good thing. The logo changes colors that can be assigned to any channel/master volume combo you want. If you have any questions I can try to answer them. Don't want to "review" the amp yet since I haven't spent a lot of time with it, lets just say I don't see myself parting with it. Super tight and aggressive dirty channels. Great compressed clean that loves effects. If you're tired of the same old amp you see in guitar stores give KSR a shot.

Is this the one that was listed here in the Classifieds section? I was just about to buy it when you swooped in lol... Got an Ares instead.

Yes, it was! ÜberschallEL34 is a great seller btw! Packed it up ready for war lol. How's the Ares?! I was going to go with that if I didn't grab the Orthos.

Haha I was going to go with the Ares if I didn't get the Orthos. :)

It hasn't arrived yet. Should be a few more days. Would love to hear some high-gain clips of your Orthos though.

I wouldn't mine either one. Is the Orthos 100w?

Congrats! I have the original version -- love it.

What are the 2 new knobs in between the Gain 2 and Bass knobs?

Thanks guys! I'll post up some high gain stuff sometime next week, cab is at the church. And yes it's 100 watts maddnotez.

The two knobs are the new "feel" control.
" The "Feel" control is a 6 position rotary switch that in the most counter-clockwise position is the tightest response, and highest-mid voicing. As you rotate it clockwise it gets bigger sounding, more low-end, and the voicing alternates between lower-mid and upper-mid. Like other switches on the Orthos, the Feel control is duplicated for Master 1 and Master 2 on the Crunch/Lead channel. This allows you to setup a tight rhythm sound and a looser/forgiving solo tone, etc. :)" KSR's post from FB.

I was playing an Ares today at the Axe Palace, what a freaking monster of an amp! I definitely want to move my Axe Fx to pick one up

Nice!

Is it in the Peavey 5150 camp tonewise? Or does it have its own thing going?

I hope it's its own thing, because I really don't want/need another SLO clone.

Only ever tried the 6505 and I don't think the Orthos sounds anything like it. It's a very tight and aggressive tone but with those "feel" controls you can get it closer to a recto/6505 type tone. It has its own thing going on for sure. I'll try to post up a high gain clip later this week.

Cool. Thanks man.

Was looking at these before pulling the trigger last week on a Savage 120/Herbert. I'll have to keep my eye on the KSR stuff for the future GAS.

Congrats man! I got to check out a Gemini a few months back in a music store. Thought it was absolutely killer! Although, I was leaning more toward the Orthos as I felt it would be a little more simpler, and I don't really need all the options and versatility that the Gemini has to offer.

Can anyone compare a Mk1 to a Mk2? Are there other changes besides the "feel" control?
