NAD: Managed to snag a VHT GP3 Valvulator

Been looking to add a Fryette Ultra Lead to my collection of amps, but they're just so pricey.

Managed to come across a used VHT GP3 Valvulator and after reading that it was basically the preamp section of a UL or a CLX, I took the plunge.

This arrived today.

It was very expensive getting it here, customs charged me 42% duty on top of what the amp already cost.

Still, going by this clip I recorded (and let's face it, most of my recordings suck), I think I'm going to bond with this one. Just so easy to dial in.

This is just the preamp into a Fractal FXIII with an API preamp and some reverb.

Not the first, I used to have an Sig:X, and still have a Fryette PS-2.

I have one too. It needs a boost imo but sounds awesome

I think my one is modded. Channel 3 has higher gain than channel 2 and sounds very aggressive without a boost. But it still has a very dry quality to it that I think the Fryette stuff is known for.

Yeah, I was pretty hard up taking a call on getting one. There are literally something like 10-12 videos on Youtube and other video sites.
