NAD: Mark V:25 Custom Finish

Hey guys, here's a pic of the new amp. It came on Tuesday. I just plugged into it for the first time. Great clean channel. Crunch mode on the clean channel is really a different channel all together. And the lead channel has 3 excellent modes. Oh, and it's way louder than I thought. One cool thing too is that the 2 button footswitch is all chrome. It doesn't have a black face like some I've seen. I wonder if that's because I ordered the custom finish or if they just changed the foot switch. Anyway, here's some pron. The Bogner has been re-wired for 4 ohms with the original speakers.

Looks great! Mine just arrived today. I was surprised the volume knob goes from quiet to loud pretty quick.
 
I've had mine for a week now and it's a killer little amp. I am running a volume box in the loop so the volume is not so touchy. I was going to do a custom order but did not want to wait. Looks great!
 
What speakers are you using in your Bogner cab? I'm running my Mark V through a 4x12 with V30/K-100 x pattern. Sounding really good with my 7 string :thumbsup:

V30 and T75 Uber combo. Tried to sell it but didn't want to give it away. Looking for a beat recto cab just to get the v30s out of it. Maybe even try some WGS speakers.
 
FAWK, that is a pretty amp. I've been gassing for either a blue one or the British racing green ones. Maybe after the tax return...
 
The pics look odd to me compared to what it looks like in person. It was sitting right under a spot light in the room plus my flash went off. It's pretty nice looking though.

I'm thinking that this amp might be nicer/smoother sounding than the full size Mark V
 
It has a lot of gain. I think I had the gain around noon or 1 oclock and in Mark IV mode, was as much gain as I ever played on my old Mark IV. I used to set that around 8. For Extreme mode, the same setting was insane gain. In IIC+ mode it actually felt less saturated. The nice thing was, that there was still more gain on tap in that case. The clean channel is really great. Better than my old Mark IV.

I have some pedals waiting to go into a board but I'm going to test them one by one this weekend. I'm assuming my Timeline and Mobius will be in the loop. But I'll use the 4CM with the Mobius so that I can put things like Vibe and Phaser in front depending on the preset. Then I have a TS9 and a Keeley GC-2 that will go in front with an ISP Descimator when/if needed. Other than a Ditto Looper (which will go in the loop after the Timeline) I just have a Turbo Tuner that I'll put up front.

Debating whether to build a board or just get a Pedaltrain or Trailer Trash. I've built and still have 2 boards and while they're tougher than anything I can buy, they weigh a ton so I'm looking for something lighter.
 
Been using the onboard cab-clone lately as well as the Torpedo Live. By far, one of the best amps among my acquisitions. Dig the TA Angel as well! :thumbsup:

Hi, I am thinking of buying this amp, because it sounds really great in all channels/ modes. But I miss the Mesa solo function! Any suggestions?
 
put an EQ in the loop, and boost the level while leaving the EQ flat.

I suppose a clean boost might work for you as well.
