Not really new but Mike has had this for for quite awhile. He put the original Transformers back in it for me( the last owner swapped them out for Mercs).

He also made some tweaks. sounds killer. Thanks Mike !

This is a 1969 Superlead Modded by Todd Langner. It has 5 gain stages and gets brutal as hell. It also has a clean channel on the back with a effects loop.

The only thing I'm not really clicking with is the Paralel loop Mike added. I am used to a series loop and this is not really working with my setup. I might need to change it to series.

With the parallel, just make sure you use wet settings....

What difference do you hear between the original trannies and the Mercs...or is it impossible to tell with the other tweaks?

damn man happy NAD!

surprised mike didnt put the IEC power cord on it

post up some clips when you get the chance

Very cool, CLIPs!

I love my parallel loop on mine. What are you running?

I'm just curious, but once you get to the real old Marshall's, do the modifications hurt the resale price in the long run? Kind of seems like a double edge sword if so, because they probably sound the best after getting modded. Awesome amp!

My setup is pretty simple I just run a Rocktron Intelliverb or replifex in the loop. Problem is I usually boost my solo patch up 6 db for solos, now I can't do that!

So how would I boost the volume for solos?

Huge ! but the power trans was not putting out 100 watts.

Damn, you would've been able to get around issue easily if you had footswitchable dual Master Volumes on the amp. I pretty much put dual Masters on every amp i own.

As far as the setup with a Parallel Loop, make sure you have the Intelliverb/Replifex set up so that there is NO dry signal coming out of the output. You need it set 100% wet. I think on the Rocktron that is done by setting the direct level to zero. This way you'll notice pretty much zero tonal loss when using FX in the Loop.

But i don't think you will be able to boost the volume using the Loop, double check with Mike anyway to make sure :)

Yeah MIke mentioned dual masters but said there is so much stuffed in there now that there is no room. And your right can't boost with the loop.

Hey Brian, I took a look at the pics again, looks like I can have you cut 2 wires, add one wire and move one component to convert it to series loop. Get the iron out. I'll send over a pic later today and follow up with a call.

This is a production year 1969 Marshall...the original trannies are awesome. Can't get core material like that anymore.

Main reason is because the green lee punch for an IEC is just under $500

Keep in mind that this was modded long ago before the whole vintage market price crazy. These were the amps that people got cheap and had modded.

Cheers,
Mike

Nutshell, the MM that was installed was for a 50w amp not 100w :aww:

Easy fix for a solo boost.....have your singer walk over and stick his microphone in front of your cabinet during solos.
