Just arrived yesterday, and I had some time yesterday to compare it with my other MKIIC++ & C+. It is definitely crushing, and has a very unique, complex, voice. It almost seems to have more gain available then my C++, which is hard to believe. Definitely some real mojo with this one…

This was Narad’s amp on here previously.

Awesome man! Yea, I agree with everything regarding the general character, but I'm surprised you have more gain out of it than your C++. I thought it was around C level of gain for me, but still not quite as saturated then, but I also was suspecting the tubes I had in it were a bit old, which is also why I wanted to sell it to the new owner without and get some fresh tubes in there. Or maybe it's volume -- I was always severely limited there.

It's interesting though, you wouldn't think a Mark series would be a good doom amp, but that amp actually can get loose with a bigness and percussiveness like to the sound like a Hiwatt/Matamp that just works for stoner/sludge stuff too. The other marks can't get loose, heavy, and have a sort of vintage character that you need for that genre.
