Just got these yesterday and am over the moon at the moment. Only had the chance to jam at low volumes but even then it crushes. Amp is an '81 JCM 800 modded by Bruce Egnater (I believe in '98). Cab is a '72 with two of the original '72 Greenbacks and two '74 Greenbacks.

The mod Egnater did is sick. Low input is like plugging into the high input of a stock 800 and the High input is using the high gain mod. There's a Mid switch (normal/cut/boost) and a Bright switch (normal/mo bright) that work with both inputs. There's a Density knob on the back that affects the high gain mod but I'll have to experiment with that to figure out what exactly it does. It also has an effects loop that I've yet to try but I'm assuming it's awesome from using the other features.

There's also a 50/100 watt switch that doesn't suck, which is great because I'm in an apartment. Need to get a PS100 when I'm able, lol. Will hopefully get some clips later today when the neighbors are more awake.

Huge congrats! That's a GREAT score...I've heard good things about the 'Megadrive' mod which sounds like yours has. PaulyC has one or two of those and may be helpful if you have questions. And the Cab? Holy shit that's another score that's as great as the amp! I have a stock 72 cab and a 76 cab that has 2 74 and 2 76 cream back 12Ms in there and as great as the 74 speakers are, when I play my Tremolo with both cabs all I hear are the Pulsonic 72s. They are amazing.

Does the switch let you remove two tubes when running at 50? Keeps things a bit cooler if you can.

I got a PS100 about a year ago and it's the best gear purchase I've done in 20 years!

Not sure, I'll have to check with the man himself. Yeah I've heard nothing but great things about the whole power station line but Pete Thorn's recent on the PS100 is amazing.

Ah the memories. Trying to play a 100w tube amp while living in an apartment. Man that sucked for everyone! Seriously everyone hated me, and my feelings were mutual. If I was still apartment living I'd just own a modeler. That said, crank that bad boy up! Great cab, always wanted one of those.

LoL. Yeah it's a challenge but there are times it can be played above apartment levels and having cool neighbors helps. Guy in the house to the right has a drum kit in their basement and when he's jamming I can hear it slightly if there's quiet in the apartment (which usually doesn't happen with the boys running amuck). Thank God for my Captor.
