NAD Peavey VTM 120 - old but gold

So some weeks ago I managed to locate one in Italy for a really good price! Since I know that these amps are rare as f... here in Europe, I pulled the trigger. It arrived 2 days ago and I was surprised to see that it still has the stock power / preamp tunes- Sylvania/ Philips 6l6GC! Today I had some free time before work so I thought I could record something quick, nothing fancy, just some riffing. So here it is.

It is loaded with the stock power tubes 6l6GC Sylvania/ Philips For this clip I have activated the 1st and the 3rd ditchs - gain 1 / compression- which add some more gain and activates the compression circuit. I am also boosting it with the demon pedal - drive at 9:00, tone at 12:00 and level at 3:00 . The rest of the settings are : Pre gain 6, post gain 7, low 1.5, mids 3, highs 4, presence 0. Signal is - Amp - pedal- suhr reactive load - reaper - Two Notes wall of sound - Andy Sneaps IR I am using my ESP Eclipse CTM loaded with emgs

What tubes u got in it?

Had to double-check...apparently some Ruby power tubes and whatever preamp tubes I had laying around. I'm sure its sacrilege, but I don't really have a preference with tubes (or even pay very much attention!) Could just be a rabbit hole I haven't dove down yet...

Sounds great, never come across one of these. My buddy has a VTM60 that needs some TLC, but I haven't heard it. Surprised with the amount of gain, move over 5150.

Sounds great dude. With your post at 7 isn't it taking your head off?? jeez, I had a 60 watter about 10 years ago and it was loud as shit with a very quick taper, i rarely had the thing above 3.

That was what my buddy said when I asked about his VTM60 today. It would kill small animals in a 1/2 mile radius with the volume.

I bet your suhr RL gets a bit warm. I recently pushed an Ampeg V4 through the Suhr RL and it got warmer than I have ever felt it, took it like a champ though.

Haha thx man! This beast could use some eq in the loop. I can definitely make it sound tighter than in this clip! In fact, I am gonna try that soon and post a clip!
