The amp came with Shuguang KT88-98 power tubes and chinese 12AX7 preamp tubes.
Haven't had much time to really sit down and delve into it.
But I've had a quick run through with it at low volume and it sounds great.
Can't wait to try my Gold Lion KT77's up against the KT88's, and swap out a few 12AX7's with some Tung Sols.

Definitely a different flavor compared to my Gryphon but still has the signature Peters sound going on.
More aggression and saturation over the Gryphon.
A bit tighter in the lows as well.
Not as thick in the low-mids, so it doesn't quite have the Gryphon's growl.
But it has nice rich mids overall.
The highs are really sweet... thick and round but with a slight edge.
Note clarity is on par, if not slightly better than my Gryphon.

Clips to come.

I'm glad to hear it arrived safely!

As for the lower mids - keep in mind this is a Professional Series amp and the EQ works a bit differently. If you turn the mids down a bit, you'll notice it brings out the lower mids more by comparison.

Looks great Gavin! I was wondering where you went. Been a while since we heard anything from you.

Congrats!

James makes a great amp, can't wait for the clips.

Why is the head small, or that the form factor for 50 ish waters?

I think if you don't have quite enough money he sends you the smaller sized head.

Ahhh the flaccid model! :D

Awesome! I would love to try out a Peters amp. I have heard great things about them and the clips I have heard sound killer.

Yes...and if you have even less money, you get jut the chassis, no headshell, and a really short power cord that doesn't reach to a plug outlet.

Hell yes Gavin! So glad you have the mighty Hydra. I love mine no matter what head it goes up against it always holds it's own or completely shits on the other head (with the right cab)  This head was meant to cut in a mix.

New album incoming? Make it so my friend.

I love my Peters and you guys should too! Hehe.

For me, nothing can touch this darn Peters Polaris 1x12 combo as my go to gigging amp.

The Electra Dyne is on it's way out very soon I hate to say...it just never gets used for playing out. It's a cool amp...I really dig it, but I never should have bought it. I just don't need it. It's a pretty expensive backup amp to just have sitting unused....damn G.A.S. got the better of me on that purchase.

Thanks Chad. :)
Between shiftwork and our looking after our 1 year old, I just don't get that much free time these days.

Thanks man, he certainly does.
I should have some clips recorded soon.

No that was how I wanted it.
My 2008 Gryphon was too large to fit in the car lengthways.
Just needed to shave a couple inches off each side of the amp to fit it in with all my other gear and the baby seat.
Hence this custom creation using an older Peters headshell that James had laying around.
