Man, I've wanted one of these since I was in my 20s during the early 2000s metalcore scene.

Up here in Canuckland, you don't see many of them around and they were sparse during their heyday.

I remember in my early twenties I played a yellow tolex Revolution 212 combo at a local store who was a dealer for a short time and...omg...

I was transported right back to that as soon as I plugged into this amp. So much chunk. So much attack. So much fun.

I'm playing it threw a Mesa Trad 412 with a mildly set Boss GE-7 for some fine freq and input boosting.

awesome! I’ve been looking at the + Series for a minute now.

I had a rev 1 plus. I really liked it, but I traded it away for a K-TRE and haven't looked back TBH.. I got the krank for $400 on CL

I’ve been on the hunt for a 1980 jr and kstein jr. Krank made some killer amps! What’s Tony Krank up to these days?

And congrats on your Rev

Congrats! I've never played a Jr, but I assume it's pretty similar to the 100 Watters. Here's my series 1.

Very cool amp, and very well put together contrary to what some internet rumors would have you believe.
Also very picky with speakers.

So, day 2 with the amp and probably 3-4 hours of playtime.
I really like it's voice and and dry feel. It reminds me of 6505, Pitbull & Avenger all in one. Really big and wide sounding, super thick and percussive, with a raspy bite.

What's shocking is how tweakable the amp's voicing and response is with how the sweep control, presence dial and fx loop volume dial interact with each other. There are multiple combinations that offer multiple tonal changing characteristics.

I will say this though, it is very easy to make this amp sound bad, which I think probably contributed to the unjust negative criticism it was known to receive about it's tone.

I've got it dialed in pretty great. Chewy, present, thick, fast tracking...

One thing is that it is kinda noisy, but it is sort of a pig of an amp...a little brute.
There is a soft ever present whistle that occurs with higher gain, volume, or treble settings.

Changing all the preamp tubes did not eleviate it. Next I'll have to change the power tubes but I need to remove the chassis to do that because it's too tight inside the shell. They look like the original Sovtek 5881s so...we shall see...

Pretty much word for word how I described mine. Mine isn't noisy at all though.

The Rev 1+ I was the same. I don't remember it being noisy though. Hit like a sledge hammer with Celestion K85's.

Okay, had another go with the amp today.

The noise; so I unplugged my cable from the amp and plug another cable straight in.... Noise is gone...ding ding ding...

So I find the problem in my pedal chain, eliminate it, and the amp is silent now.

I set the Master to where it sounds just open and big enough, and use the effects loop volume for a global master volume.

This works excellently. It's a very loud amplifier and I can bring it down to apartment level volumes this way when I want and the sound still crushes.

Hits like a sledgehammer...oh boy is that right. Like a concussion grenade to the chest.

An absolute steal for the $400 Cdn I paid (=$300 US)

It's shocking how little these amps go for. I paid the same for mine. $400 Canadian. For a 100 watt, Made in USA tube amp. It's crazy. I suppose 100 watt tube heads are obsolete dinosaurs to younger guitar players. Most of them seem to be playing modelers, lunch box amps or small combos. My local Long and McQuade has no heads and cabinets at all, just little tiny amps. Sad.

A 100w Revolution head is what I've always been after but only came across one, in pretty bad shape, for way too much money. I'm still looking for one. The 'Stein too, but they tend to get the dead artist sales tax added to their used price LOL.

It is on my short list of amps to buy again if I see one pop up locally. Doesn't happen much though.

Regarding Krank I was disappointed with the Chadwick I demo's years ago, but the Rev + I had was awesome.

Congratulations to the OP for buying the Krank Rev Jr. amp head! I haven't tried one so I can't say much about it, but I have a Krank 1980 Jr. 20 watt amp head and a Stiff 90-AD 50 watt amp head. Both were built by Tony Krank. Killer Marshall JCM 800 style amp heads with a clean channel. I got the 1980 Jr. amp head for $300 plus shipping and I got the 90-AD 50 watt amp head for $400 plus shipping. Great U.S. made amp heads.
