ok so i thought the build quality of these amps was supposed to such and be a mess inside, i opened mine up to bias it and add a depth pot to help tame the bass and the build quality was awesome i dont understand why people knock on the quality as mine is awesome? sound huge and very plexi ish sweet amp... here are some crappy camera phone pics

I'm not sure if it was the build quality as much as the components used at times. I remember seeing alot of big plastic toggle switches and shafts on pots. Transformers were kind of iffy I thought too. I remember them at the music store by me years ago. They did sound pretty good.

I agree. I know that music store you're refering to and most of those amps didn't last long before they blew up.

if you're at all considering getting it modded,Jerry Dyer at Surreal Amps,is the guy!!! he does a killer mod to these Sovtek's at half the price of what other modders are charging ............ and he's a great guy too!!!
