NAD!!! The 20th Shiva has arrived! (112 update)

It's here!!! Finally!!! 6 long weeks of waiting.

Got to play it a pretty good bit tonight, thru both cabs (Shiva size 112 w/ Celestion Classic Lead 80, and OS 212 w/ Celestion V30s)

First Impressions:

1. Just as great as I remember it sounding

2. This amp was made for V30s, or something similar. I strongly dislike it thru the CL80. Sounds very clinical and harsh on top, not smooth at all. Zero vibe with that speaker.

3. I have to re-train myself that "noon" on the shiva knobs, is in fact, NOT noon. It's more like 11 (because when set to "zero" the knobs point STRAIGHT down, and only travel to about 3:30/4:00.


I can't wait to try out the 112 with the Scumback 100W M75.

I ran my 20th Ecstasy through a TM212 with g12T75/CL80 and it sounded good....BUT...when I got the Matching Bogner 4x12 with V30s It sounds amazing. I had to roll back the pres and and some treble, definitely designed for V30s and that cab.

My Cameron Bog Uber Rev Blue will be here Friday and the guy told me it loves the Bogner cab with V30s so we shall see or hear.

What speaker are you going with for the 112 cab?

Trying to keep the clean nice maybe a EV 12L. Joe Bonamassa uses these in 2 4x12 marshall cabs for his Silver Jubilee and 20 year old Ecstasy (on loan from Bogner till his custom XTC head is built) and he has some great clean tones.

Hey guys, so tonight, I finally got around to swapping the Celestion Classic Lead 80 in the 1x12 cab, for a new Scumback M75 100W.

For the 20th Shiva, huge improvement.

Less strident and hi-fi. More warm and fat. Definitely a vintage voiced speaker for sure, but the 100W power rating really makes it sound huge. Great sounding speaker, and in the 112, makes for a great portable BIG sounding rig.
