nice grab! As others have said pair it with a VHT cab. I run a VHT 50 CL with VHT FB 4x12 w/P50E's...perfet match for that unforgiving tone ;) The note clarity even with gobs of gain incredible. If you have sloppy technique it will be apparent with VHT stuff.

Set the Master volume real hot and use the amps individual channels volume control to adjust volume....

The rhythm tracks on my band's new record are going to consist of Herbert-5150II-UL-XTC 20th. Should be mighty.
That sounds like some primo amp blend action.

Very cool! I'm loving my 93 UL. Had it for about a week now.

Awesome thread and Congrats on owning one of the finest amps on the planet!

I've been really content with my guitar tone ever since I went back to VHT/Fryette gear.
Contrary to what most have experienced here, I really like the tone of the VHT heads with a V30's loaded cab. It adds a little bit of sizzle that can be lacking in the ultra clear Pittbull speakers.

That old blackface recto has awesome saturation but no where near the clarity and detail of the VHT heads.
Having that graphic makes a huge difference as most of you know! I tweak it slightly for different guitars. You can really dial in the sweet spots with each cab once you get used to each band.
Honestly, I can get over how awesome these heads are..

So should I get FB or Deliverance cabs as opposed to the Recto 2x12 I have for my Fryette? I've been debating lately whether I should get a Fryette cab to go with my Fryette amp. If you were to get a 4x12 would you go with the Recto or Fryette?

As others have already said, pair that Fryette head with a Fryette cab & you can't go wrong.

I have the CL, UL, & Sig:X amps. Ended up choosing the Deliverence cab over the Fat Bottom, as its less directional & a little more vintagey.

No complaints

The sound of the pittbull heads with matching cabs is not a traditional guitar sound. It's very clear and flat for lack of a better word. Like I said in my early post, you will loose the sizzle you hear with v30's. now, pair the fatbottom with an amp head like a 5150 or recto and you hear a huge improvement in the overall tone.
As far as fb vs deliverance cab, its fatbottom for me. I never the the d cabs as they were real joint soy ding. Like playing your guitar through.a drum kit..

That is what I'm getting with my Krank cab. Kind of a flat, clear huge sound. For the lack of V30 sizzle, I find that cab/speakers lets me get more out of the treble/presence & gain dial which gives me that added sizzle in a different way.

The VHT/V30 discussion is interesting though.
I find that all the reasons we like V30's are already there in the VHT amps character. When you add V30's I found the mids and tone got a little overloaded and "confusing". I really like the V12s right now with my VHT but would obviously love to get my hands on a FB cab.

I'm currently playing my UL through a Diezel FL 2x12...at the studio it will be going through an H&K with Greenbacks, at least initially. How's that going to sound?!

It should sound good on tape, not sure it would performance wise.
I would just be listening for how the GB's prominant mids mesh with the VHT's mid voicing. You will likley need to pull UL's bass back too.
