Cheers to lespaul6 for the smooth trade.

Two things I really like about it so far: It's got that "kerrang" of a good ol' Marshall but without the harsh fizziness, yet not being too "polite" like some modern M-type amps. It also remains crunchy at very high gain settings without becoming too saturated and gooey.

Here're 2 clips:

Reamped from Ola Englund multitracks (drop A?):

My own shitty playing (drop D):

Nice one! Enjoy! It sounds really aggressive and punchy!

Welcome to the club! I have one of Martin's other MCI's, and just love it. It has the perfect amount of gain for classic to hard rock, and by leaving the pull boost off it will take a boost pedal if you want to venture into metal territory.
But it's that power section that leaves me smiling every day...I thought I'd never meet an amp that puts the SLO in second place for punch, but then I met Mr MCI.....we have a winner.
Do you have any GB cabs? If not try one sometime. Perfect with the Wizards.

Congrats!!! Awesome amps  Man, from the clip of your jamming, that amp does seem to have some crazy kerang!!! I'd be interested to hear that in the room, because from the clip it sounds way different than the MCII I have.

These MC 1's I had are real beasts.... in your face and breathy/ punchy.... I liked the rawness much more than the SLO I had many years ago. Enjoy Fei!

Sounds so damn good!!!
Congrats on owning the best amp made. LOVE my MTL

Thanks guys!

Both clips were recorded with GB's actually. I don't really like the pull boost on lead channel, but the lead bright control seem to help a lot with downtuned guitars.

The drop d clip was recorded on a swamp ash guitar with might exaggerate the attack a bit. Curious about the difference between MC 1&2 too though.

I like how it has the massive 3D-ness that's similar to the SLO but more crunchy and aggressive, although it hasn't exactly dethroned the SLO for me yet since they have quite different gain structures.
