Wow! Unbelievable great Christmas for you...can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Morris. Enjoy your stuff over the Holidays
Man the Perplex'd is THE answer to anyone wanting a modded Marshall type amp. It has 3 channels with a high and low gain mode switch. The clean channel is a non MV clean channel with bass and treble, and it sounds amazing for an EL34 amp. The rhythm and lead channels are like a Marshall super lead, but you have a lot more gain and fantastic control of the sound at ANY volume. You can literally play this thing with good tone while your baby is asleep in the next room.
The *feel* is magical. It feels like it can play itself, but it's not really a forgiving amp. The tone is very true and you can hear your guitar hardware. It reminds me of a Bogner XTC101B, but very open and more vintage. Well it's not pure vintage because it's got fantastic definition and a low end that never flubs or anything.
I thought Friedman had the niche on the modded Marshall thing, but the Perplex'd takes it to another level. Friedman's are better for real high-gain stuff, but the Perplex'd does everything else better. It can do a lot of high-gain stuff with a little boost in front and the low end holds together really well so you don't lose any definition. I'm sure that's a statement that will probably draw criticism, but I'm not knocking Friedman at all. I really love their amps too. It's just that I've played all of them except the SS and JC models, but none of them quite bring it to the table the way the Perplex'd does. I thought the tone of the Smallbox was a slight improvement over the BE100 as it was a bit more open, but there's no question which amp wins out between a Smallbox and a Perplex'd unless you're specifically into the California modded plexi thing, but even then the Perplex'd can get those tones.
It's a little bit refined and subtly smoother than the Smallbox, but still has that Marshall growl everyone loves. Playing solos with it is just endless fun. It gives up incredible lead tones all day long so it's hard to put the guitar down once you start playing.
It's a shame that Morris amps aren't a topic of discussion more often on this forum, and he is deserving of an amp forum on Rig-Talk in my opinion. I have no affiliation with the guy and don't know him personally. He's a Canadian and I'm a Texan, but man, discovering his amps was a revelation. That dude is seriously talented and on the same level of any top builder as far as I'm concerned.
I updated this thread with a little audio which I recorded straight out of the box over some random improv track. I'm not a pro, I couldn't really replicate exactly the first improv on the Perplex'd track, and wasn't even know where I was going with the sweep picking thing, so it is what it is.

Congrats. What's custom about the HR25?
It's voiced a little different and a little more versatile than a stock HR25, so I can use it to cover more style of music, but it's not too far off from stock.
