Jet City 100W head.

Finally was able to pick one of these up.

It sounds really good, especially for less than £400 brand new!

Found the EVH SLO settings and use those, they are very effective. Definitely has the Soldano tone!

Having a look inside and the quaility on the board and care taken in assmebly seems to be on par with Marshall.

I'm gonna mod it to SLO spec and see how that is. Ignoring transformers its only 10 or so parts different. Will also add the Clean/crunch switch and normal/bright swithc like a real SLO.

At some point will upgrade trannies to.

Found these http://www.ig-transformatoren.com/catalog/en/search?sSearch=SLO, looked at Mercury but it would be nealry double the price when you include shipping to the UK.

Will try and do a before and after clip

Congrats on the new jet city. Curious how it sounds once you mod it, how close to an slo does it really get?

Been really wanting to pick one of these up... My tech has one modded out and side by side with his SLO, there is some differences but not many... These amps are amazing!!! HAPPY NAD!

Thanks!

It sounds killer stock! Really good.

I've not played a real SLO but i've heard enough clips to know what they sounds like. Its pretty close.

You can mod the values on the board easily to be 100% the same as an SLO. Upgrading tranneis would be a plus too, Mecury sell an SLO set and they made the original ones before DeYoung. Or there are the Onetics ones at C3 Amps.

But over here in the UK i would save about 50% getting the IGPW ones.

Id say stock its 85% there sound wise, and for 1/10th the cost...

Killer amp, don't get me wrong if i had the bank i would get an SLO in a heartbeat. But at the minute the Jet City is holding it's own.

Another thing i forgot to add.

The 100W sounds massively better than the 20 or 22H.

I don't think the 20H i played was very Soldano-esque, no low end and more aggressive in the mids/highs. Kinda Marshally

But i'm not a fan of small wattage amps, not played on i like.

Interesting, too bad the lower wattage ones dont sound more slo-ish. How does the jet city 100 do at low to medium volumes?
