Nice, but is is lacking.

Where is the Allmans, Skynyrd, Steely Dan, Djent, Neo-Classical, Doom, Sludge, Groove, ....

This is cool website listing of just about every genre in an intuitive way.

Select a genre using the 'arrows' and it will pull up bands under that genre categorized in a similar fashion. Intense.

I will the one to say it out loud : my taste in metal ( or any music) does not need many adjectives. My personal tastes usually cause me to believe that three or fewer words are needed to describe all music that I can digest (examples: rock, metal, pop, blues, country, thrash, classic rock, polka, bluegrass etc etc etc). Im admittedly a simpleton who does not have enough detuned 13 string ukuleles to play Post-Country RodeoCore Porn Music.

For the record I like bands like SkeletonWitch that Im sure is "post" or "core" something......Im just too lazy to do the math.

its easy ... good metal and bad metal :D

sadly there is a lot more bad metal than good metal

Math Metal -

Is a derivative of technical metal, using rhythmically complex, guitar-based style of experimental rock music that emerged in the late 1980s. It is characterized by complex, atypical rhythmic structures (including irregular stopping and starting), angular melodies, breakdowns, and dissonant chords.

I don't know why but all the sub-genres really irritate me. WAY too many. It's all metal to me.

Never a truer word spoken. Metal is absolutely the most douchey, elitest, self important musical genre I can name.
Where a traditionally alternative, uniting genre now has people desperately scavenging to claim one of its niche and avante garde subgenres for their own by some tragically insecure need for independence, and then reprimanding everyone else who discovers it until their pride forces them to abandon it, hate it and ridicule everyone for liking it.
