i have a hard time believing that's mark boals. looks so different. he still has a decent voice here, but some of the guitar solos remind me of why metal died. more bad bends than an icy mountain road and seemed like wienerschnizel at that gig.

That wasn't bad at all  The guy with the hat was soloing in the wrong position for a spell, probably couldn't hear himself. i've seen this happen w/ Neal Schon more then once.

yeah noticed that and i remember schon with the black paul on pbs just blazing in the wrong key/position

more marshall from namm

Are you sure that wasn't one of Neal's jazz albums from the 90s?

It's funny how my tastes have changed and grown more diverse as I've gotten older. Back the day the stuff in that video was the shit for me.....now not so much. Don't get me wrong I still like some bands from that era but there are very very few.

Mark Boals sounded great. I always enjoy seeing Michael Angelo's wig, it's total Spinal Tap.

I don't watch a bunch of MAB but i don't guess I ever noticed that he changes his hand position for the really fast alternately picked runs. Kinda interesting.

That guy with the hat was real bad. Wow!

That wasn't a hat, it was a wig.

I know that MAB can play and he started quoting the solo, but man he has no soul in his playing what so ever. It's like his timing is off or too perfect or something. Mark sounds good here, over the last ten years it seemed like he was getting carried away with his upper range and was sounding really piercing.

BTW, is Mark half Japanese? I always wondered that from back in the day, he looks like he is mixed race.

Mark still has it. Wasn't too bad considering no one can play like Malmstein. Not even Michael

It happens... I still love alot of that stuff but just dont listen to it all that much anymore. There are briefe moments every year where Ill listen to nothing but 80's stuff because Im craving it but then Im back to what I regularly listen to.

I think diverse is a relative term; I live what I like and that may be diverse to some and limited to others, ya know? I dont think age has a whole lot to do with it as much as what Im playing and what inspires that...

Nice to see Madison Amps still floating around!
I thought the same thing. I was under the impression that they went tits up!!!

Was Mark the guy in the original "You Don't Remember" video? Just wondering....sounds great! Looks different but still has the chops. A lot of 80's guys lost some, but I don't notice anything there. Kiske is another that hasn't lost anything.

MAB is the only guitar player on there I recognize. Poor dud playing the Ibanez didn't even need to be there. Mark sounds great. Check out the band Iron Mask to hear Mark tear it up like the good old days.

I actually bet he wished he was somewhere else!
