Scored myself a 78 (i think?) Marshall 4x12 loaded with 55hz G12H-30 Blackbacks!

Think this may be my new favorite out of all my cabs!! It sounds massive, handles more bass than the Greenbacks, really beefy midrange and low mids too, and killer top end!!

NOICE!!!!!

For the heavier stuff and the Boogie I like the H30s to tame the mids a tad and get a more modern tone, love those speakers but I dont have the killer set you have now

Awesome cab.

I would interested to hear how those blackbacks compare to the heritage and anniversary G12H30's....

I have a '76 cab with those in there, are they the 55hz bass cones? (EDIT: so apparently I can't read) They sound FANTASTIC with my JMP. I'm actually about to swap them out of my Marshall cab and drop them into my MATAMP cab because it's a straight cab and I can't get the damn plastic handles on the Marshall to stop rattling.

Well i have only played the Cameron HG Jose JMP through this so far, but its just unreal! It does tame the mids a tad just like you say, its a bit more 'pleasant' on the ears at high volumes.. compared to the greenbacks mids!

Me too!! I'd love to test these out side by side with both types of reissues!

Well funnily enough i only bought this for the speakers.. i was gonna throw them into an early 70's Hiwatt straight 4x12. BUT.. they do sound very good with this cab so il leave em in!

Sweet, I have a '76 Marshall cab with the same speakers.

Bada$$$$$$! that is sweet! Hey Dan, how is your LPC coming along? I know where a '76 is but not sure about pulling the trigger. It's pretty beat up but structurally sound.

I havent actually taken any pics yet man, but i can try take some soon for ya!

That LP sounds cool! If you can try it out, do so.. i tried like 8 different 70's LPCs before i actually bought mine. They vary in tone and feel big time.. some of the ones i played sounded dead, and some sounded just mindblowing and alive!!

I wouldnt worry about original pickups/tuners/bridge etc. Those things are worth upgrading straight away when you buy one anyway IMO. Aslong as it feels perfect and sounds perfect, even unplugged, then its worth buying.

Great score my friend!!.. ..cant wait to bring the cameron and the jmp over to try it...once we hook it up as a WDW setup..its gonna be killer!!..
