Last week, I was lucky to find this beauty in France. The seller was kind enough to cut me a good deal shipped to Athens Greece. It's the old version, rear-loaded with uk V30s/ Creambacks. I haven't had much time to test it but the moment I first plugged in my Mesa Boogie 2C+ my jaw dropped! This bad boy sounds phenomenal! Really articulate, tight and mighty! More clips to come soon!

i remember the first time i heard the uberkab too.
Reinhold brought it to our 2001 amp shootout and it stood apart from the other cabs in the room. articulate and ridiculously clear from clean to the heaviest of zones. i had to have one and used it live for the better part of 14 years.

swapped out speakers over the years before selling it when i moved to the islands. now it belongs to a friend.??

what speakers did u end up loading in it?

first know i did so because i went from boogies and egnater amps which sounded amazing with the stock uberkab,
to a mojave peacemaker and at that point needed speakers to better compliment a vintage plexi vibe.

ended up with 4 different speakers:
uk era celestions—greenback(snarl), gh30(brown crunch), v30(modern lead compression), and scumback(smoother vintage lead)

really good choices...!

4 Different speakers? I always ask the PA guy to place two mic's because the Uberkab has two different types of speakers standard in it (two V30's and two G12T-75's), at least mine has.. Where do you place the mic(s)?

It looks more like frontloaded cab. The visible wooden ‘cross’ under grill and bigger pipping…
RL was more versatile, FL was more agressive, modern sounding. Still own black RL Scumback loaded…

Read any of my posts regarding "high-gain amps" into "what cabs".

UberKab - always - first choice - without fail - my favourite cab for maximum punch when matched with an amp offering maximum punch.

Congratz on the cab!! :rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:

i spent a ton of time choosing that but generally used only one mic on that cab because i normally ran w/d or wdw and was already mic needy?

preferred the gh30 if there were lots of rock rhythms and clean stuff, v30 if the set is leaning towards more modern solos, scumback for more slow subdued melodic lead lines role with atmospheric shoegaze, and the greenie for no nonsense bluesy straight ahead stuff.

the more important aspect was having that cab blend for my own enjoyment to hear onstage!

the cab is featured on a recent demo vid my friend made (talks about it around the 2:45 mark)

nice to see he still enjoys the speaker blend and at this point the v30 in it is now 20 years broken in?

Love my Uberkab. It was my first 4x12 so I went for the best I could. Still goes strong and takes anything I throw at it. It's the V30/75's version.
Your mention of Athens has me salivating for a Souvlaki now. Fkn LOVE them.
