Bought this cab from my buddy who got it from GC. He's extremely picky with cabs, so he decided to let this one go to me for $600, which I felt was a pretty good price, and none of them ever come up locally near me.

Got it home, plugged it in and immediately noticed how the V30's overpower the T75's. Like, very first note. It was actually worry some, to the point where I opened the cab and checked the wiring because all I could hear was the top right speaker and the cab sounded surprisingly light on low end.

Everything was wired right, so I closed it back up, did some dialing with my settings on my FJA 5150 and Diezel Herbert. I like the cab, it's tight and clear, but seems to lack low end punch.

I'm also unsure of the speaker combo, as all you seem to hear are the V30's. Anyone ever tried T75 on top and V30 on bottom?

Something is not right. Both of mine have tons of low end punch. If wiring is confirmed to be correct perhaps the speakers are shot.

I didn't think it seemed right. I pulled apart the wiring and triple checked it, it's wired correctly. I'm hoping one of the speakers isn't dead, dying, fucked.

My Diezel 240RL 4x12 sounds massive in direct comparison

I may need to pull it open and fuck with it again tonght

I tried that combo, ran the V30's on the bottom. At any rate, it should sound much better than described.

Is it on casters? That will reduce perceived low-end. It's comparable in punchiness to the Mesa 4x12 Traditional and Peavey 412MS.

Check to make sure the speakers aren’t out of phase with each other.

Easiest was to check is open it up and then intermittently connect a 9 volt battery to all of the speakers. Check to make sure they all move in the same direction.

That is what I was thinking. I bet something is out of phase. It happened to me once.

If you have T75's and V30's and sit 10' away, you should not be able able to notice.

Should have very punchy low end. Especially with the polyfill backing.

definitely sounds like a phasing issue, let us know how it worked out. Something is telling me the previous owner sold it cause it sounded underwhelming from the exact reason. IT will be a great sounding cab once dealt with. :)

Yeah something isn't right. Those cabs have TONS of bass.

Probably the front loaded speakers are more in your face and less deep. I find these cabs kinda mid rangy

Quickest thing to do is verify impedence, then next would be phasing, just grab a 9v, and go around it.

I totally forgot this trick and I thank you. One speaker was definitely out of phase, and after close inspection, he had the jack wired backwards.

Everything is good now, cab sounds huge. Ill probably spend the day playing amps through it and testing it out.
