It's been one helluva year for me gear-wise and otherwise. I started off buying a new/used guitar back in June, never expecting I'd end the year with a "mini" rig. The 2x12 was the final missing piece and it arrived today: Nomades 2x12 custom cab w/ Celestion V30s! Custom features: the cab that's 4" taller than the standard Nomades 212. Custom dimensions are 30w x 14d x 22h, I wanted the speakers further from the ground and added bass is a side benefit, and lastly the white Duratex textured coating (vs. standard black) for the style factor.

Much thanks goes to Chris @ Aresenal Musical / Nomades Cabinets who are in Quebec, Canada. Chris was very helpful and easy to deal with in coming up with and building the custom cab. :thumbsup:

First, this is one heavy sumbish of a 2x12 weighing in near 80 lbs. I think that's 20 more than most 2x12s! Getting it down to the basement wasn't fun but we made it.

Since I really haven't had a chance to really put it through the paces yet I can't comment a whole lot on the sound other than it'll be a hate-then-hopefully-love relationship with the V30s as they get broken in. Instead I'll just show you poorly lit, off-colored pictures in the meantime.

I'm not familiar with Nomad cabs but, it sure looks nice

I have a 4x12 Nomades oversize cab V30 + K100 in a X pattern, so i know your cab sounds awesome.
Chris is good people to deal with for sure!
 
That Peavey HP CT looks great. I own 2 of them & they are a pleasure to play!!!

The Ibanez looks great as well. I just missed out on a mint '91 original one of that model on eBay.
 
Thanks guys! I played the rig some more: big and full sounding especially coming from a 1x12, not as projecting. I'm definitely liking the V30s over the H30s for the Colossus, more mid-range detail that was lacking before, sounds good even at lower volumes. The heavy cardboard box the Nomades shipped in is good for blocking the front of the cab and cranking the amp to help break in the speakers faster without killing my ears. ;)

Thanks, I love my HP CT. I picked it because of its features over the regular Peavey Wolfgangs: coil splitting, up-tremming capable with trem-block. And it sounds awesome. The RG3XXV is also a very easy to play. Too bad about missing out on that original RG, you could always pick up a 3XXV to tie you over until the next 91' original comes along. ;)
 
That is a nice cabinet! First time I have heard of these guys. May have to look into it as I am still trying to decide what to go with.
