Really? I think the audio feed couldn't handle the volume and was farting out. When it cleaned up I thought it was quite nice. Although he is a monster player, I'm not fanatical about Neal or Journey.carlygtr":1soednvx said:

Saw him live last two tours, wasn't real impressed. Neil Geraldo w/Pat Benetar owned him like a rented mule recently, and Brad from Night Ranger did the same in 2010. Not only was his tone pretty generic, but he did the Schon Formula Solo each time - really fast picked flurries alternated with soulful melodic passages. NOTHING in between. It was like listening to someone alternately possessed by Yngwie and then Leslie West of Mountain. very boring after awhile.

I think he still has his skills, but everything he plays comes at you like a machine gun. The tone on this sucks. He's going thru so much bullshit. That's not his old live tone in Journey. It's a big mess, IMO
