Hey Guys, :)

I am about to buy a custom shop handmade guitar, and I already selected the Bridge Humbucker (Suhr SSH+) and Middle Single (Bare Knuckle mother's milk), but I have a dilemma with the Neck Pickup.

I actually reached to two options, the first is the "Seymour Duncan SHPG-1 Pearly Gates" and the second is the "Suhr SSV".

I'm want a very versatile guitar that will get me a sound from heavy rock to Jazz (actually more Jazz, and cause of that the Neck Pickup is very Important)
The guitar will be Mahogany body, Flame Maple top, Maple neck and Wenge fingerbaord (kind of Rosewood).

So which Neck Pickup are you recommend?

Thanks a lot guys,
Bar.

Sounds like you have enough money to buy both and try them out with your rig to see what sounds the best.
That's what I'd do anyway.

Ok, and for the first select which one i should choose?

Thanks :)

For jazz I didn't really like the pearly gates, lacked some clarity for me. I actually prefer the 59 or jazz to that one depending on the build but the one I've been putting in all my guitars neck position now is the lollar elrayo. Good balance and clear sounding with lots of articulation. Almost all my guitars are mahogany body with a maple top, some hollow and some solid but the elrayo sounds great in all of them. I have the 59 in bridge of most of them but the jb is in a few that seemed a little darker.

I switched out my pearly gates neck for a Jazz and found better clarity on the bottom, not so soft, the alnico 5 helps with this... its a great pickup, very articulate and not boomy.
