Need a compressor. Anyone familiar with Joe Meek products?

My buddy is looking at a compressor and is ready to go the Joe Meek route https://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifie ... =340636093


I'm a rig-talk junkie and have never heard of them before. I was telling him about the Barber Tone Press and the Keeley stuff

What would you guys recommend?

never heard of it. At that price I would go Diamond, CM, Rothwell, or Keely... I use a Rothwell...

Bongo www.ovnilab.com reviewed the Joe Meek and gave it his thumbs up. So I have heard of it, but never tried one.

I have a Barber Tone press and a Diamond Bass comp (very similar to a regular diamond comp). Of the 2 I prefer the Diamond, whether it is guitar or bass. On my wish list is a Ross clone (which I believe the Keeley comps are) and an Empress Compressor.

Not sure about the pedal but their studio gear is considered to be some of the best.

Joe Meek.....look it up guys, this company has been doing compression for a long while. I wouldnt hesitate.......I had a Tone Press, could get excited about that?

THe Joe Meek stuff is pretty legit. great stuff with incredible build quality. I wouldn't hesitate. One other compressor to also consider is the Pigtronix Philosopher's tone. I have it, and it is a great pedal.

yeah Joe meek has been in studio gear for a long while... some nice stuff
