Hey guys I just got rid of my Kemper for a Splawn Quick Rod and Nitro. I have to say I am extremely happy in the trade but I am using an Orange 212 with V30's which works great with the Nitro but its a bit mid heavy for the Quick Rod(which I have been scooping the mids a bit to compensate). I was thinking of selling it and just grabbing a splawn cab with small blocks or creambacks but I havent had any interested buyers. Do you guys thinking swapping out one v30 in my cab for a creamback will make a big enough change tonally to keep the cab? Ideally I would like to just keep the Orange with the Nitro and get a new cab for the Quick Rod but I dont want WWIII with the Mrs.

Congrats on the QR, it's one of my favorite amps and I miss mine. Would LOVE to try a Nitro!

It's almost impossible to scoop the mids on the QR :D I played mine with the treble near zero and mids noon to 1 o'clock through an EVH 412 with EVH speakers (aka heritage greenbacks) and it sounded great through those speakers. Also sounded good through my Whitebox 2x12 loaded with G12K-100s; They're pretty balanced across the spectrum IMO.

are you looking at creamback M's or H's . If you are looking at the H I would say yes it will do what you are looking for .
Like mike said the QR is always going to be mid heavy but the creamback will be much less mid heavy than the V30.
Buy some creams and try it. If it still isn't what you like either sell them or buy another cab to put them in .
I personally never heard an orange cab that I liked . Just my personal taste.

I'd go for a matching Splawn cab. I think a mix with a Greenback flavor would be the way to go. My Competition shined with Greenbacks!
