My 1936 Marshall cab lacks some bottom end. I bought it used, but it looks near new, so I'm sure the speakers aren't broken in. But, they lack bottom end, nevertheless, with the G12T-75's. They're supposed to have big bass, but with my JVM, I'm not getting it, and that amp has a lot of bass with my Mesa Thieles.

I'd give a nod to Mesa V30's, slightly rolled off top end and beefy mids and lots of bass.

EV Black Label. Just need one. Mix it with something with the same efficiency level. There's not a "bigger" sounding speaker. IHMO.

The Heritage G12H have great lows. I just installed a quad of 75hz and 55hz mixed and it thumps big. For a different flavor the Tone Tubby 40/40 have big low end. The speakers are really good once they start to loosen up a little. The mids have a little bit of an Alnico vibe but they are thick. Same with the high end. Very thick. No artifacts, cone cry. Very clear articulate sound and the price is good on them.

Lynchbacks have big low end ........moreso than V30's.

H30 speakers are going to give you the best bass response, but I don't like their mids or highs

I need to try the Heritage G12H 75hz paired with the Heritage G12H 55hz in my Marshall BHW.

The Heritage have a long break in period. So its a little bit fuzzy on the top end for a few. Doesn't bother me. I know speakers need break in. Really wouldn't bother me if I was in a mix. The 75hz sound damn good out of the box. The 55hz not as much but still good. They go a little lower in the bass but their top end is a little bit harsher. They smooth out over time. To me its a great combo and the cab really thumps. I like that Celestion finally got rid of those solder tabs on the Heritage line. Much better with the tabs. Solder or clips.

Thanks!!!! My 55hz are plenty broke in and I would love to check out he 75hz and pair them with the 55hz in the Marshall BHW, but I am afraid to pull the trigger!!! :scared: :scared: :scared: :uzi: :uzi: :uzi: :uzi: Does the 75hz fill in the mids that the 55hz lack?

Get a nice quad of scholz sugarcones... expensive, yes! Big bottom end and tight focused all around great speaker. I would also second the lynchbacks, or some evm 12ls!

There is no lack of mids to my ears with the combo. The good news is if you don't love them the 75's will still sell for a good price as their are not many used for sale. I paid 189 shipped each for mine. The 75 and 55.

These speakers are an acquired taste. Not for everyone and they very amp specific imo. I have had both and not just once. Not that they are bad. Not at all. The Sholtz paired up right are nice speakers. Charles is one cool guy also. Talking with him is worth the price of admission.

have you checked to see if they're both in phase with each other?

you shouldn't be seeing ANY lack of bass with t75s in there.

always protect the mcnuggets.

I'm rather liking the Celestion G12K-100 as of late.Have them in a couple of oversized 1-12 cabs. Also looking to put a quad in my old Sonic 4-12 cab.To my ears, the G12K-100 sounds really good in both open and closed back cabs.

i was gonna suggest g12h100s (the earlier version of the g12k100)

but first, im curious if his speakers are out of phase.

black shadow, g12k100, classic 80...
regular g12h's have a ton of bass, but you'll have a tight power handling for a 2x12

or... you could get a HUGE cab, like an oversized recto or a marshall modefour cab

This...ya beat me to it.

Something is wrong, you should have plenty of low end in that cab with those speakers.

V30's, as long as they're broken in.

One of the last speakers I'd recommend if the OP wants a "huge" sound.

Lots of great suggestions here. To add to the mix, I am really liking 2 Eminence Swamp Thang's in my Mills 2x12. They're sort of EVM12L's on a budget, but I am considering doing an 'X' with 2 of these and 2 Black Labels in my Mills 4x12. Great low end, and blooming, controllable feedback (which I personally like quite a bit)
