Need info on Splawn Cabs ASAP, Vaughn, I'm lookin at you!

I have the opportunity to pick up a Splawn 4x12 with a Big block / Small block 65 speaker combo for $400. I have no experience with Splawn, but I know a lot of you on here do. I decided tonight that I need to ditch my Mesa 4x12 (for sale now $550 OBO local pickup) because I hate how it sounds now. The guy say's it's never been gigged, and it looks brand new.

Please help, I'll be grabbing it Tuesday if it all works out.
 
Get on that and buy that thing! Super deal for a killer cab.

I had a Mesa Recto 2x12 and saw a Splawn 2x12 on here locally. Sold the mesa and bought the splawn with in a couple days. Best move i have made in awhile! Mine has Man o War/Governor in it, but none the less, it rocks. Mesa have no sustain to me.
 
I'm getting out of the whole Mesa thing, and I'm trying to find a company I can stand behind. My producer wants me to go Rivera, and I've love to, but I just need to get the fuck rid of that Mesa cab.
 
$400?? that's a fuckin' steal!!!
that speaker combination sounds massive by the way
 
I haven't ever tried those speakers at all so it'll be hard for me to say. I had Gov's , Gov and gt75's X-pattern, V30 & H30 x-pattern and straight V30s. I had a Mesa slant cab(the normal size one) before the Splawn. I wish I could a/b them. I kinda felt like the Mesa was more punchy or louder or something. Felt like something was missing a little when the Mesa was gone. Not sure if it was the slant vs. straight cab, new speakers I never heard, or just in my head? I still have a Splawn at home not getting used...if I could get $350 for it(mine's got some road wear), probably would be gone. I just don't wanna ship the damn thing. I do love the way it records though.

Wish I could be more help, as far as a company goes, Scott's a stellar guy to work with. He was always helpful to me. I think for $400, you can't go wrong. Should be fairly easy to get that back out if its mint and not a crazy color. You can always give me a call today too if you have questions, I'm off work.
 
My Splawn cabs were my favorite (beat many more expensive cabs, imo)
I had a 4x12 and a OS 2x12.
Saddly I sold them a while back, but I am in the market for another 2x12 and it will definitively be a Splawn :thumbsup:
Scott makes a great product.

That price is great. Get it.
 
Why don't you think you could get $350 for your cab, road wear can't be that bad? I'd rather have Vintage 30's, and that's the only thing making me a little wary of it.

Well, there's a couple tears in the tolex on the back. Its definitely a cab for live use, probably not something someone who baby's their gear would want. Its wired 8 ohms mono, don't remember if I even wired the stereo jacks in or not cause I don't run stereo with a single cab. I'm not actively trying to get rid of it, so you could A/B it with your Mesa if you wanted to see if you like it or not. I could take some pics if you wanted to see it before either of us drives anywhere.

I've seen a few mint ones go in the $4-500 range and its a buyers market, so I just figured I wouldn't get anything for it.
 
That would be great man, shoot up a couple pics. If I had the ability to transport any of my gear (you've seen my car hahaha) I'd shoot up there to A/B them. What speakers are in it now?

4 V30's in it now. Its pretty dusty/dirty and obviously been hauled around in a trailer for a few years. If nothin' else, the next time I come down by you, I could bring it along.

OH FUCK MAN! I JUST FOUND OUT, we're playing with Killswitch Engage, Chimaira, Lacuna Coil and Disturbed at the Charter One Pavilion in Chicago on May 16th!

Holy shit man, congrats! I saw STP there around the same time last year. Very cool. Like I said, I'm really not actively trying to get rid of it. So we'll see when I can get down your way. Was planning on coming for the CD release(when is that again?). Not sure if I could do that show or not.
 
I put a quad of English Greenbacks in my Splawn 4x12 and it's by far the best sounding cab I've ever played through.
