So I've been thinking for the past several months about getting a second guitar. I've learned (through that damn Les Paul of mine) that it's better to wait for what you really want and to save some dough in the meantime.
So I'm down to several different guitars (love everything about each of them) and I would be happy with any of them.
What I'm most interested in is Explorer variants. I've always dug Explorer type guitars and there are several (both new and used) that are pretty eye catching.
So to make it simple; here's my list:
Charvel Pro Mod (or some older Strat-type variation)
BC Rich Mockingbird ST (though the quilt top doesn't look 'right')
Ibanez Destroyer
Tokai EX55
The Destroyer is the one I'm having the most difficulty with. I've seen some with bolt on and set necks and I've wondered if there are any differences other than that between the two.
I'm looking for the sustain and sound of a Gibson but with a Fender like neck feel. I know a Super Strat would be the ticket, but I want something a little unconventional.
Looking mostly at the used market. $700 and under preferably.
Thanks!
