Need some help from Dave and also Wade from MotorCity!

Dave, I just recorded some clips with my VariPlex that you tweaked for me. I just got some mint condition, never cranked, not broke in yet, original 1978 Celestion Blackbacks with the 1777 cones. I pretty much have everything I need to get the early EVH tone nailed. I pretty much have it nailed, but I am looking at tweaking and fine tuning it a little more. I personally think that I need to back off the bass a little bit on this clip. Also, I am wandering if I need a little bit higher output pickup. I can nail Van Halen 2 like nothing. WACF and Fair Warning are my target tones and I am always falling a little short of nailing them completely. Its a matter of sustain. Especially when I do tapping and pinched harmonics. I am thinking that I need a pickup thats around 9.5k in output.

Wade, my pickup that you made me sounds fantastic. I am thinking I may need a little more output. What do you recommend? Mine you custom made for me with an A2 magnet. Its similar to the Blackbelt 2.. but with more output. I am thinking it may even need a little more to get that sustain that I am missing. What do you think?

There is a pickup Wade made for me the he really has not put out there yet. Its cool sounding very open and hot. Might be what you need. We were calling it the Cock Monger for a second. Call him

How do I get ahold of him? Is the number on his site the correct one?

Cock Monger huh? LOL That should work great with a Hairy Brown Eye! LOL How hot is the pickup?

What do you think of the clip Dave? Do you hear what I am hearing? I am stuck in the Van Halen 2 box. Time to get out of it! Fair Warning all the way!
 
Yeah his number is correct. I think the pickup reads like 12k or so. Clip is great just seems like the tone needs a bit more zip.

I agree... more "zip" is what I need. 12k would probably do me! I tried to call him... but I gotta admit... Wade is tough to get ahold of. I will try to email him and see what happens. I hope I can get in touch with him to ask some questions!
 
I went ahead and emailed him. So hopefully he will get back to me in the next day or so!

Is there a big difference between your new pickup and the 2nd Degree Blackbelt?
 
Both are great and would work but the Hotter one is cool also.
 
Was that new pickup Dave just a hotter version of the 2nd degree blackbelt???

Yep, and I already have my order in for one. I can't wait to get it and crank it up on the Brown Eye and my Plexi!
