Rocking out  but is it wrong that I feel a bit like a girly man!

The "Hungry" album is awesome. I still listen to it often. "H.J. Boogie" became one of my favorite riffs to play too.

Inside out

Now you mention that song, I remember the chorus.....I really know *nothing* about this band...and I love 80s sheet!

I love both of their CD's with Diglio on guitar. IMHO Diglio is one of the best players of the 80's. He also has a killer tone. I've been looking for a Morin preamp ever since I found out that Diglio used one.

Marc Diglio was a monster and had killer tone. I dug the 2nd CD much more than the first. It was a little rawer.

I thought he was using an ADA MP-1?

Love the tone on "Face down in the gutter". Just raw as fuck!

I have a magazine at home with a Diglio interview where he talks about his gear. I'll see if I have time to dig it up this weekend.

Definitely

My buddy Tony has Diglio's old red Charvel (now faded to orange) that he used back in those days.

The local buzz was always that Diglio used the Mike Morin stuff and had his preamp. They weren't multiple channels though so I'm sure when ADA threw some gear at him he put it in his rack and used some sounds on that too.

never liked them, i tried but i couldnt get into them.

You know it makes sense because his tone didn't sound all that like an ADA and I always wondered how he was able to get that tone with that unit. His recorded tone on Hungry was epic!

Oh and by the way you need a Charvel to sound like that anyway.

A Marshall JCM 800 & Furman PQ3 will give you the XYZ "Hungry" tone in spades.

Good to know. I bet that furman would slay in front of a Quickrod. Another favorite tone of mine is Stryper and they used it with a Mark lll, so I should look into that EQ.

I'll try to post a vid. tonight of some XYZ riffs with this set-up.
