So, I went to the Amigo Guitar Show in Nashville to look for a couple fairly rare music man axes - and I found them both!

Unfortunately, or fortunately for me, I ran into Jeff Neville’s custom guitar booth while I was there as well. A telecaster isn’t a guitar that’s particularly useful to me tonally (I play in a metal band), but I was completely blown away by his guitars, one in particular!

I must have gone back to play that axe a few times before finally breaking down and bringing this beauty home!

To those that have never tried a Neville Tele, I suggest you do. The necks are magical feeling, and the tone is to die for. Already placed an order for a 2nd with a humbucker in the bridge and a Strat neck single :)

That top is gorgeous. Very nice looking Tele.

I'd take a single HB with no pickgaurd.

Happy New Guitar Day!!!?

Damn, if she plays half as good as she looks...

Just posted over on the pointy forums lol. Love the flame on the neck. Hate a T and curious why you’d even pick it up haha. But that flame would probably have me grabbing it too.

Honest - I do love teles, just never found the right one I guess?

I walked by his booth and all the guitars looked so lovely, and this one caught my eye. So I sat down and played it unplugged, and was instantly like wtf?!? Then I plugged it in and went wtf?!?!?!? Then I came back to it like every 20mins until I just bought it.

It honestly sounds so good I may start a 2nd band (swamp blues rock) just so I can use these!

I made a couple videos of me playing it in different styles if you’re interested message me.

I’d love to hear.

Please post the clips publicly lol.

Bought this Neville beauty while I was up at my place in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan last November. That’s me holding the guitar with Jeff and also a picture of Rick Springfield in Jeff’s shop. I’ve been seeing Jeff play with his band for many years. He’s a great player and a great guy. And the guitar is nothing short of amazing. I’ll be getting another for sure. My place is just a few miles from his shop.

They are awesome guitars. Everything is done by hand. No CNC machines. Hand shaped necks. The fretwork is impeccable. And less than half of what fender charges for their custom shop models. Jeff Neville is the real deal.

Congrats!
Out of curiosity - what were the Music Man axes?

Update: I’ll have my two custom ordered Neville Ts by the end of June I think.
