I can't find any details on this amp. Bogner has a garbage sure so I can't see how many channels, modes, can it to crunch?

Lately I've been leaning toward using more classic crunch and vintage voiced amps and boosting, adding an OD to get the heavies. I find that works better than using an ultra high gain head and trying to get crunch tones out of it. But it depends on what the person needs. For a lot of guys, this is perfect amp.

I do love Bogners.
All the details of the amp are on Sweetwater. They post up info of what the manufacturer sends them that would be on their own website anyway. I get the disdain of a lack of a website though.

The amp can cover all grounds believe it or not. It has a fantastic crunch on channel 1. It’s more flexible than the twinjet’s channel 1 crunch. It’s not a vintage voiced amp by any means though if that’s what you were hoping for in that mode. It does take boosts very well including with it’s own internal clean boost.

Sounds like the 20th anniversary XTC would be more your thing.

I agree, that's my dream amp but it's huge and expensive. :(

Oh OK, thanks for the info.

But for a gig amp the Ultra I assume would not be easy to access clean, crunch and high gain all from the footswitch? Sounds like you have to change channel one to crunch?

But, yes, the XTC 20th is my dream.

I use clean, vintage thru 90s/2000s crunch and rock, hard rock, grunge and some metal.

in that scenario you could set up ch. 1 as your clean then ch. 2 setup for crunch and engage the internal boost for your high gain stuff. This is all possible with the included footswitch

Thanks, that's good to know.
I'll keep it in mind when I look for my next amp. The thing is, the highest gain the Uber excels at, isn't something I would use much. I love and appreciate it.but since the last metal band in which I played, I haven't used that type of gain much. An Ecstacy would probably have plenty and then I could use a pedal to get more. But I'd like to see how good the crunch tones are on the Uber Ultra to see if it could work for me.

Sounds like every other video that clown makes. Also sounds like it won’t take pedals well and lacks low end.

This dudes videos are a plague upon tone. Same tired ass riffs. Same tired ass buzzsaw tone. And half the time he has some pedals happening. And then he also does that dumb shit where he pans one amp to the right and another to the left for "comparison videos" which is fucking retarded. Like I'm supposed to cover one head phone or ubplug a speaker to hear one then the other?

His videos ensured I will never buy an alnico cream speaker. I'd get tired of hearing that buzzsaw overtone after about 29 minutes.

Also, the dude is a straight up cockpiece as a person anyway. So there's that 🤏🤷

So this amp isn’t cool anymore? Is the honeymoon over?

I'm liking it. There's a lot going on with the UU...so many settings available it's nuts. It is an incredibly tight amp. I boost everything and honestly there's some modes on the UU that sound absolutely perfect no boost...no onboard no OD out front, just straight in tight brutality. It gets stupid tight and has gobs of aggressive attack with decent articulation.

I recently discovered CH2 crunch double boosted with the onboard boost and an OD out front and feel so far this is the most open/least produced/most raw tone I've found yet. A lot of the other modes/settings sound amazing, but definitely have that processed verge of digital sound/feel to me, not very raw/organic at all IMO. CH2 crunch set the way I have it is much more raw/open.

I got one of the first ones Sweetwater had and ended up selling it a few moths ago. Huge Bogner fan, my main amp is an early Rev 2 Uber. I was hoping the Ultra would cop that tone but also give me more flexibility with running a second dirty channel and having all the extra knobs and switches to tweak. Super cool amp but just couldn't get that same filthy, fat saturated tone that my Rev 2 does. It definitely has a more "modern" vibe, a lot better for thrash and faster riffing that needs tighter tracking. Not as good at that huge room filling 3d wall of sound when playing sludgey detuned chords. I tried 7 different cabs, different sets of EL34's and KT88's (88's sounded the best to me), dozens of boosts and eq's in front and in the loop, and every channel and setting there is.

Still looking for something to cop Rev 2 tones while having better cleans/second dirty channel and a better loop, so if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears!

It doesn’t exist as far I can find lol. I sold my UU for the same reason being my Rev 1 Uber. I’m not as familiar with Rev 2’s, but I found while the UU sounded tighter, more modern and cutting, the Rev 1 somehow actually tracked better and I could hear the notes more distinctly on fast palm mutes even if they technically didn’t sound as tight (tight enough though still imo). It was the same scenario when I AB’ed a Mark 7 vs a real IIC+. For my taste I found no matter what I did there was that inherently cardboardy, filtered sound that I really don’t care for that I hear in many very recent like also KSR’s, Driftwood’s, Revv’s and Omega’s being the worst when it comes to that. We all have different tastes, but I really dislike this quality of a lot of these very recent modern amps. They also don’t connect well at all the notes and as a result to me don’t feel good to play. Thankfully the Hell Razor, Hermansson’s, Naylor and a few others don’t suffer from that, but I understand have other qualities that some don’t care for like the clank or hollowness with Hermansson’s

Many have stated that the hell razor and hermansin type circuits record like asshole. They lack frequencies needed to translate into a beasty recording apparently. They all sound neutered.... that's what everyone. And I mean everyone thinks about them recorded. Trust me. Just ask everyone.

Personally, I agree with them.

First I will say I dearly miss my UU which one day I will reaquire but that is the one struggle I had with the amp, besides the noise. Sometimes I try to play fast technical death metal and I struggled to get a super fast/tight response from the amp.

However it's in there. The once someone explained to me how the morph control worked it got better. It definitely isn't the best in that area but it's almost good enough I suppose. Either way I still think it's the best amp I've ever had by far. It was just so inspiring to play like no other amp and sounds mean as hell.
