i have 4 guitars and 3 of them have suhr aldrich pickups in them. they are so harmonically rich, but a very tight and full sound.. hard to believe but its so damn good. ralphie..im gonna get one :D

Hi guyz! I'm new here and I'm from Rome.. I'm a huge fan of Doug, Slash, Zakk Wylde (but in his early days), Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Luke, Reb Beach, Angus Young, Brian May, Blues Saraceno, Buddy Guy and so on...

This pedal might be interesting :)
I agree with psychodave... I prefer find an old Furman PQ3 'cause the cost of this new pedal.. but anyone knows specs of it? How it suonds like?
I'm just curious.. I like the idea of this new pedal but I'm sure Doug will use it for a short time and he will turn on his PQ3...
Anyone knows where I can look for Doug new rig? I read he's using Diamond amps and those voodoo's new modded amps.. but was he using Vintage Modern too?

Thats not the pedal thats like the Furman. Here it is in Dougs words
"Now I think I finally have a pedal that is gonna replace my furman...Ive been working on it with the guys at
Majik Boxes and it sounds great. There are two versions of the box... One is very similar to the PQ3 but better cause it is
in a pedal format and has a bypass switchg on it. Its called the Modifyer. The second pedal is more of a dual boost pedal
that is great for either a clean boost that is not over the top, or a dist, or both...It has a low end shift that changes or adds bottom. so combined with a main amp tone, you get
three more different gain levals and tone variations. We dont have a name yet but both boxes are just being finished now.

Ok hope that helped... See ya Doug"

I'll wait until they get the EQ pedal done. I have no need for anymore gain in my rig...lol!

 damn..thanks for clearning that up dan. good thig i started this thread then :p im definately gonna be buying that furman pq3 in a box. also i cant buy a furman pq3 coz there arent any in 240v :( id have to carry a step down transformer around with me everywhere :( ah well..lets hope the other pedal is out soon!

Yeah this new pedal looks cool but its kinda pricey..

As far as the 'Modifyer' pedal.. Il stick to my PQ-3. If you want a tone like Doug's, you can copy the PQ-3 settings direct from the pics of his in his rack.

Dude mine runs on 240v. It was 110v originally and i just changed the mains transformer inside it. Wasnt pricey or anything and now i can use it without any stepdown transformers.

If it's got the good of the PQ-3 without the awful noise it may be worth it. But that is expensive.

WTF? Doug is using the Diamond amps now? I haven't read that anywhere else, but I kinda stopped seeking out info about him this past year or two. I know the gear section on his website hasn't been updated in... oh... 4 years? Something like that. His amp rig is from the Dio tour he did, which was quite a while ago.

Hey Chris

As you know Doug always has his main 2 Marshalls which are modded, and theres usually 2 other amps in his rig making 4 in total. Well remember he had that Standel amp in there? The Diamond is kinda replacing that, and he also took a Voodoo V-Rock out on tour too..

So as far as i know, there's his two main amps (Modded Marshalls) which never leave and the other two amps which he's taken out to try on tour!

What's the MOSVALVE for in his rack?

Stereo Poweramp, as he's running Wet/Dry/Wet with 3 4x12's. The poweramp powers the two wet outside cabs and his amp head feeds the center dry cab!

Hey guys! Any of you got some photos of Doug current (and old also) rig? I saw an old photo on Reb web site, another one on Uriah Duffy site (the one with Doug tech, Maddi Schieferstein) and one sent me by a girl from Doug website.. just curious :D
Ohh.. I'm a die hard fan of Doug's sound on VH cover of I'm The One... :worship:

..MrDan666 you rock man

According to Dave over at Majic Box, the Furman like pedal will not be going into production.

For what its worth, Doug's rack is still the same as its always been. He only really changes out the amp heads and the rack stays pretty much the same.

I know a while back he used a VHT 2150 tube poweramp rather than the Mosvalve and he used a Lexicon PCM-41 rather than the Roland SDE-3000. But obviously during the Dio tour he changed back over to the Roland and Mosvalve and its stayed that way since.
