Been wanting to try one out for a while now and i finally got a good deal on one. It's not a "metal" amp but its pretty good for lead playing. Haven't used it in a band setting. That's coming tuesday.

See if you can notice anything out of the ordinary.

BTW, it has all JJ preamp tubes, jj 6l6gc's.

Clean channel is much cleaner than my Splawn Quickrod. Haven't had the chance to a/b them yet.

I have both the Quickrod and Legacy as well. If you want a really good lead channel out of the leagscy with a bit more bite....Throw and OCD in front!

Also...stick with those JJ's 6L6s in the power section. I first got mine with some EL34s and when I switched over, I was blown away at the improvement. And I am an EL34 guy.

For the money, the legacy is hard to beat. Can't wait to hear the Legacy II clips.

oh....1 more thing...I really like the Legacy through a front loaded cab. Gives it a little more presence.

I'd have to say as well, the lack of presence in that amp kinda bugged me. I had to turn the presence/treble up there, and it really became sort of a one trick pony. Not that there's much wrong with that! Sure sounded good too.

I'd like to hear it through that front loaded cabinet of yours, or maybe some different speaker choices.

The Legacy is a sweet amp. Some of the best cleans you'll ever hear and a sweet lead tone. It is dark though but that's why I liked it so much.

I have a Legacy as well and the thing totally weirded me out at first. The best rhythm tone I got was setting the treble to 3:00 and the bass and mid to 9:00 lol. On most amps this would be a ridiculous setting, but this amp has way too much bass and mid on tap to begin with. I should post my full settings, I've got a cool sound going on with it. Think Steve Vai's work with DLR...like the song Knucklebones, but slightly more modern.

While these amps are loud as fuck, since the Legacy II has come out, the I series has been popping up dirt cheap. I may pick up 2 heads and slave one into the other to get the tone but tame the volume.

I paid $480 plus shipping for mine. Can't find any blemishes on it.

Congrats man, I think those things sound great for lead work, I liked the fact it was a little dark
